POSITIVES: Sean Bergenheim played with HEART. I am so happy for the kid. In 2 shifts he had more hits than anyone else on our team attempted. Welcome back Chris Campoli. Showed very little rust, and for me, the biggest reason he is a positive was his timing. A few times he read he play and jumped up for a scoring chance. Mark Streit. Quietly had a good game offensively (1G, 2A, 3 PTS). Our Powerplay. While they hit posts and were robbed by Turco, they GET chances and don't pussyfoot around the perimeter like the old Yashin days. NEGATIVES: Our youth looks like SH!T. Yes you read that right. I feel bad for Tambellini now. The bastid played a timid game and looks so outmatched skating down the wing against a defenseman like Boucher or even a guy like Grossman. For us to, or better yet him, he needs a deflection, something to get his confidence going. Nielsen? another timid game. But their excuses are that they're young and developing right? Well, Mike Comrie has no excuse. Move your feet buddy. Please. I'm at a loss for words. Rick DiPietro. Probably the biggest share of the blame. Not for the 3 goals in the first. But how he responded after that. Was it just me or did he try to overplay the puck even MORE the last 2 periods? Keep it simple. Nope, he cannot. Shows me he has not matured. Yes this sound like negativity but I think it's justified. Frustration and lack of confidence can be used as an excuse for younger guys but Rick, at this point is running out of them. Not because we lost, but because of how he fell into the same old habits when we were trailing. Not a good sign at all.

Is it just me - or does every young guy on this team have a huge FEAR of coming inside the circles. Just check Tambellini's shot selection this season. Two or three feet from the boards. Uggggh! DP was schooled on 3 of the 5. One was questionable, and one he blew. It is typical for fans to quickly blame him, but his D left him to dry. Bruno was doing so well, sorry to see him slip like that. Meyer, who is usually positionally sound, was a little out of sync. And Campy - the first 4 or 5 shifts were tentative, but he came along. Park a -3. THat is a shocker. Streit was good, and Bergie was solid. Sim wasnt too bad either. But put Weight's picture on Waldo. Just my $0.02 GH |

Unfortunately. Lost in all this was the fact that last night's game was a good fundraiser for the Hockey Fights Cancer campaign. The results of the game are something we have no control over but at least the players can come back and give it another fighting chance in the next game. For those of us who've had loved ones taken by this disease, we know some don't get that chance. Live each day as if it's your last.

AH...and thank you for reminding me that even in a game where they are representing a fight against the disease that killed his mom...Comrie still looked like he was dragging his feet (not toe this time). You would think he'd have at least a little fire in his game for that :dontkn |

Excuse me? If I know anything about hockey you say? I play hockey, I play good positionally too, that means nothing. If you are a scorer you score. You don't get paid millions just to be in the right position. I like Guerin but haven't seen much from him this year, well the whole team except Streit and Hunter. yeah go crawl back under your rock. |

I know you like to have a few cold ones during the game...nothing wrong with that...so I'll just post that idea up to the brews Another beautiful idiotic clearing attempt by Bruno = goal number 3 Lack of a backcheck by Okposo and Pock led to goal number two. There is a pattern here and it wasn't DP tonight. Gervais is going to play himself out of the nhl if he keeps this crap up. |

How does the goalie get the biggest share of the blame when the defense leaves him out to dry on every goal? Yeah, his overhandling of the puck can get on my nerves from time to time, but after watching that lifeless corpse we call forwards and defensemen skate hard enough to MAYBE beat a Zamboni in a sprint for 20 minutes, don't be shocked when someone like your best athlete starts trying to do too much. I still fail to see how that hurt us. What hurt us is the fact that Tambelini is afraid to go anywhere near the slot and settles for perimeter shots all the time. What hurts us is Gervais still can't clear a puck effectively. What hurts us is this-- where were all the goals scored tonight-- would you say the plays came from the quality ice or the bad (angle) ice? If the goals came from the quality ice...then don't look at the goalie. Look at those in front of him. |

I'll tell you how he deserves the blame. But please reread my entire post. He is no longer a blue chip prospect. he is the face of the franchise and a leader. For him to try and do too much and fall back into the same bad habits of overplaying the puck and not keeping it simple it sends the wrong message to his teammates. If your goalie, one of your leaders shows little faith in you, how's that for your confidence? Brodeur never did that. he never overplayed the puck. he trusted his defensemen, from Tommy Albelin, to Shawn Chambers to Colin White. When your goalie does that, it KILLS the transition game. Kills confidence and wastes time. Like I said, I didn't blame him for the first 3 goals. Plenty of blame to go around. It's how he handled himself afterwards. You'd think he'd learn by now. THAT is a big negative my friend. Without him playing with his head in the game, we are oh so very doomed.
