i CAN has a goal!
|
I say this as the biggest DP lover around: The first goal is squarely on Rick. I love you, Rick, but the up the middle clear is a BAD IDEA for defensemen, and a horrible HORRIBLE idea for a goalie. The Second Goal...Frans should be riding the pine pony like Pacman Jones on a stripper. He got used and abused by Rod 'I drank my ensure during the pre-game' Brind'Amor. Speaking of the nosed one, He ALWAYS owns us. That was our best offensive period in a while, which is sad, as we got shutout. You can really see the lack of talent in HD! Rick's rebound control isn't there tonight. I dunno what's up. That's usually one of the things you can count on with him, even when he's off. On the plus side, Tambellini and Thompson are bringing it, and on the blue line, Freddy Meyer is pure hustle. Everyone else needs to ask themselves if they are an NHL caliber player at this point. And Billy, WTF was that at the end of the period? He gave up on the rush after the initial save and skated off...there was AT LEAST A CHANCE for a rebound if anyone gave a sh!t. YOU PLAY UNTIL THE BUZZER. That REALLY angered me. I WAS EXCITED FOR MONDAY. |

Nice hit by Thompson. Freddy IV! As bad as DP's play as been, they haven't given up and still keep attacking which is very encouraging. |

Overspeed? The only result that's evident is that the system creates more opportunities for the opposition to score earlier and more often. Seems to pull our defense out of position, mostly. When the opposition starts running away with the lead, perhaps it would be more effective to slow things down a bit and maintain control. But that would not fit in with the overspeed philosophy. |
