You've Just Been Served!

I agree with just about every point. Gervais is REALLY killing me out there. He got outmuscled on the goal that broke the game open. You either get the puck or stay back in the triangle, but you don't get outmuscled and phased out of the play. What was a 1-goal game broke open at that point. |

No I in team, but there is an "m,e".

A couple of cents. Another "classic" game put forth by the boys from the island. Some good effort in play to only have mistakes blown up by goals for the "other" (insert any team here) team. Some good scoring chances, but that's all they were -- chances. Can't put the puck in the net. #21 looking better. #15 looking like the bags need to packed with the hype. #13 needs to step up as a captain when #20 takes a penalty for him. #13 needs to do more then just bum rush a guy & then hug him when "stepping up" for a teammate. #93 just plan old. #89 just plan in-CON-sistent. This "systems" doesn't seem to bad, but then what systems doesn't when executed well with goals scored and penalties killed. Scott "MIGHT" turn out to be a good coach, but I'm still on the "F@#ked up firing Ted Nolan" side. I expected the l o n g season, but not with the DiPy drama. Is he hurt, is he healthy, is the new injury really not related to the others. As stated earlier here, maybe he really does need to sit out the year. Apparently they never learned from the 10 yr signing of Yashin. 15 years (what 13 now) of D.P. in and out? There was potential, but not proven, with D.P. So do they make signing like this? I guess I'm really more pissed with the management then with D.P. at this point. And where was that Isles - Rags intensity? That seemed to be one of the lamer games between the two in awhile.Just my thought after the game.

It was better at the coliseum last night than I expected. While loud the Rag fans were less rude than usual. We saw only one fight (but it was a good one in Loudville, Isles fan kick the living crap out of a Rag fan and the Rag fan was the one ejected). The game was fun and just a pretty good game until the penalties in the 3rd took their toll. I left after the Rags 3rd goal as I had my 11 year old and it was getting late for him with an hour drive ahead. KO played great. I really hope this is the player we'll see everynight. He skated with confidence and strength. I'm surprised he only had one goal last night. Mark Streit is better than I had hoped for. They guy is smooth and plays with a pretty good edge and toughness I hadnt expected. Billy G is getting slower by the game and his penalties are hurting us. Joey Mac played solid with some outstanding saves. I wish his chant was "BIG MAC" (that would be cool) instead of "Jo-ey" (which is pretty gay). BSutter21, it was a pleasure to meet you. Sorry the Meet and greets are not what they use to be but you can blame this organization as those huge crowds you use to see in our M&G pics once were all season ticket holders who no longer are full plan holders, some are not any plan holders now. It's pretty sad when the most dedicated dont find the Islanders worth it anymore. So the system looked better last night. But what is with the cloud of secrecy over these injuries. What the hell is wrong with DP, the mis-info on Witt. Meyer, what's up with him. I hear Scott Gordon is suffering from a mental injury and is day to day, but he says he'll play thru it. A real "Ted Nolan Type" coach. |

DH, It's become increasingly tough to think after watching this disaster both on and off the ice. Take the off-color attempts at humor with a grain of salt. Ok, that last one with 10 lbs of salt. yeah, ok, so I wasn't thinking.

Is it spring training yet?

I thought the game was good until the 3rd period with the damn penalties. No luck. That call for holding on Bergy after he got slashed was week but what can ya do. Anyway...gotta love Streit. Great pick-up. I loved when he really hammered on Nasland at one point in the game. Besides him our D is putrid without Witt and Marty back there. Jack Hillen has been awful. KO played well. Frans played well. Hey we're not gonna turn it around so quick. I just hope if we finish dead last we don't lose the damn lottery (can we say Kovulchuk)? I hope Tavares doesn't turn out to be a Dave Chyzowski LOL. |

I get the feeling he'll be trade bait come the deadline. Snow will move him to make room for another undersized d-man. |

Not a chance. Why such a long deal if he's temporary? |

I know this is way late, but I thought NYI played pretty well, especially for the # of injured players. Of the 4 Rags goals, 3 were flukish (Guerin tips in a shot, 2 shots into traffic deflect off friendly skates to Rags for relatively easy goals). One missed player in front of net (no excuse) for an easy goal Plenty of other plays to pick on but excellent effort, I would take this every night, regardless of the score, as long as the young guys keep progressing / rest of the team doesn't regress. |

Thanks for the hospitality at gate 1 Nick. I remember seeing the pics in past seasons of big gatherings and next we get down there, maybe it will be better. I meant to also thank you for all you do here. I've haven't been on another board since joining as this is a great place. I don't post as much of others but am here every day and read alot to see what the fanbase is thinking. Let's go get a win tonight.
