Trent Hunter slowly turning into my new favorite player.... He definetly should be on the all star roster! Joey Mac also looking like an all star! I dont think DP could have done a better job.

| After a narrow victory in 1994, Boston Bruins defenseman Al Iafrate was asked why, in the closing moments of the game, he had fired the puck around the boards rather than into the empty net. His reply? "Empty-net goals are for faggots" | |

Of course Danno had to spoil it for me and say that we just beat a crappy team. |

A win is a win. Ottawa is in dire straits. A roster that should be 5 games over .500 that is NOT responding well to Craig Hartsburg who is a very good hockey guy. If you recall how well a lockeroom the Sens had the last few years, you'd understand why they have a similar record to our team despite having WAY more talent on paper. They lost defensemen Corvo (trade), Redden and Meszaros (free agnecy) and their powerplay has not been the same. I read that Chris Kelly and and dany Heatley have had issues. This team is a mess. BUT, a win is a win. Bergenheim had a monster game along with Hunter and, heck pretty much everypne. But what I watched more than anything else was the play of Josh Bailey. The kid has great hockey smarts. Just 2 games tho. We haven't seen him in 3 games in 4 nights, Road tripe etc. Long way to go to label him a success. But damn did that look sweet seeing him and Okposo connect. Joey Mac played very well and I loved the edge to Streit and Campoli's game. A small part of me looked at the score and standings and wondered, what the heck are they doing? They might go on a winning streak now and ruin their #1 draft pick position. Then I remembered, we played the Senators who are struggling mightily. |

I listened to the 3rd period on XM satellite radio and got the Ottowa radio guys with their feed. They must've said "worst team in the NHL the Islanders" and "last place in the entire league" 7 times. Constant put downs. Not that it's not justified but it seemed weird to hear it on a pro broadcast. More used to hearing that from fans.....like us!

Even the Ottowa newspaper says repeatedly how NYI is the worst team - From Bad to Worse Even Islanders, last in NHL, Find way to top struggling Sens:Islanders 3, Senators 1 Ken Warren, The Ottawa Citizen Published: Friday, November 14, 2008 Just how low can they go? The Ottawa Senators added yet another ugly chapter to their embarrassing early season story last night, and were thoroughly outplayed in last night's 3-1 loss to the New York Islanders, the NHL's worst team. Well, at least the Islanders (5-9-2) came into the game with the NHL's worst record. (Their win vaulted them one point above idle St. Louis.) |

On CI, in the Sens' pre-game they said, "playing the Isles would be good tonic for them to lose their losing ways." Really?!? Great night as the Jets also won. |

Good win for us. The first few minutes (before we took a penalty and they scored) were impressive as Bergy, Weight and Guerin put pressure on early. KO had a very good game, Bailey looked like he belonged, Hunts move to the front of the net was cool, especially when he lifted the guys stick and buried that backhander. Joey was stellar. And we did not implode in the third. We looked a little sketchy at times, but we were aggressive and took the play to them a bit. The penalty at the end was a concern but what the heck, we got a win and a nice win at that. Not worst in the league and believe it or not, a few wins in a row and we're kinda right in the middle of the pack. You never know...

Bergie went from the doghouse, early penalty and subsequent PP goal, to penthouse with hard work and a beautiful pass to Weight to set up the Guerin goal. For a player with little puck sense, Bergie's energy alone creates opportunity. Could you imagine how good he would be if he could keep the puck on his stick? |

Hey does anyone go to TSN.ca? Watch the highlights on the game and they actually call Trent Hunter "Trent Green" on the go ahead goal. And they say Americans don't know anything about Hockey..sheesh, TSN do your homework.. |
