No I in team, but there is an "m,e".

After watching this one (going for the 3rd in a row), I can seriously smile from ear to ear. If this can keep going, there just might be a pot o' gold at the end of this season's rainbow. A great job from EVERYONE tonight!!!

Let him take his time to return... even if it means the whole season. We're gonna need the guy. |

Exactly. Why not enjoy what Joey is giving us right now and not worry about it. DP is a minimum of 5 weeks away if not more. No need to worry about it. If it takes him until the ASG to get healthy, fine. If not, fine. Joey is playing terrific hockey right now. It is funny how so many people were killing the guy last year and crying about Dubie not being resigned. Now Dubie might not even be getting paid as the Russian league is in danger of going GM on him and Joey Mac is playing terrific hockey. There's no reason to even wonder or think about DP right now. The bigger question is can Danis do the job as backup because he did NOT look good in his first outing and we can't throw MacD out there every night. |

Right On Time.

What a great game.... Gave me a lot of energy. When Franz scored I was pumped. Okposo still has some work to do on his skating. Also.... NO QUESTION the team is better with Comrie NOT EVEN DRESSING. Tim Jackman is a better player than Mike Comrie. Is that scary or what? 3-1 without Comrie. Will they fall back? Sure, this is a team that was SUPPOSED to be dead last, so they will still lose a lot of games, Joey MaC will still have tough nights. One thing that kills me about DP.... The intense DP loyalists always say put a team in front of DP and he will have these numbers etc. Of COURSE I know that a better team is so key, I also recongnize that Rick has talent BUT Last year Rick had a 2.82 GAA and a .902 Save % In 05-06 Rick had a 3.02 GAA and a .900 Save % Those numbers are just un-exceptable. This year we still have a below average team, we have a team that hasn't had all of their d-man almost ever. We have our number 1 D-Man out a long time, number 2 was out and so was number 3. I don't think Brodeur or Luongo or Henrik would lead the team to a cup, but he has still be up and down. Last point.... NO ONE, has really missed the "great" playing of the puck from Rick. I think the D know what to expect and they go and play it. I don't want to bash on Rick and is Joey better or Dubie better? No, but the team he has had in front of him (#39) the past few years haven't been brutal and MOST years (he has had some real good years) he just wasn't that consistent, didn't put up numbers he should have. Short sample but Joey Mac has a .915 Save %, a winning record and a GAA of under 2.70. Also he let up 7 goals in ONE game. |

Great win and we threw it right into the face of those a-holes in the Vancouver media. Word is they had this written in as two easy points. I guess that's why you play the games. As for some of the comments I've read here, my humble opinion. Jackman- Impressive, lotta heart and fills the toughness void rather well. Guerin stated "I have no idea what he's doing out there, I just hope he keeps doing it". Cool stuff and he had 5 shots on goal last night. He is the difference between someone who wants it badly and someone who doesn't give a crap (read Comrie). Nick has been touting Jackman for quite a while on this board and while I was not convinced earlier, I am now. This guy will do whatever it takes to be a part of this team and it is nice to see. The Rick- Sorry, but I can't throw the guy away that easily. He can be a top level goalie in this league and has the skills to do so. Can he get his head out of his butt? Not sure. Will he be a prima donna? If his performance on the ice says so than so be it. I'm fairly sure Brodeur doesn't sit in the back of the bus either. I also believe that watching Joey will motivate him to re-establish himself as the top guy. His attitude when he returns will be key. Is he simply going to skate between the pipes and think this is his gig and play poorly or will he go in with the determination that separates the men from the boys? That is totally up to him. In any case, three in a row and I will keep my enthusiasm in check, but we look pretty damn good and I'm liking it. |
