Enjoying the game.
I'm sick of his sh!t attitude.

From the Isles Beat blog

Quote:

Mitch Fritz scored on each end during line rushes. Obviously, when you say "punch" and Fritz, you're not talking about offensive punch. Maybe it was some kind of Freudian slip, but he lingered along the boards while the power play units were meeting right after that. He had to be summoned out of there. He said, "There's always hope!" Gordon recalled Comrie saying something to the effect of, "No there's not."

it's not just his attitude. it's mainly his lack of consistency, scoring, and production.

now is the time to trade him

I could deal with those things if it wasn't for his sh!t attitude.

I agree, he looks completely lost on the ice. Can't make a pass, passes instead of shooting, slow to the puck. I remember being psyched when he came here. Now, he is clearly an issue.

And if his attitude is starting to suck get rid of him.

For a draft pick and a bag of pucks.

I would definately get rid of him, but not for draft picks! Snow ruins everything, especially draft picks and it would be a waist. Screw the picks. I'd rather get nothing rather than another disappointing draft!!!!!!! :headbanging:

Comrie for a defensive prospect and a 3rd rounder? Is that asking too much?

At this point yes. Wait until the deadline for any trades and get the most for these guys unless some GM is smoking crack and gives up the farm for our less toxic waste products.

:bag: Comrie like most of the roster is another 3rd line player what do you expect, when he was with Edmonton he was a nice 3rd line player and with the senators you never saw him he was a non factor, now when he comes to the Islanders everybody expects the guy to carry the team. This team has too many of these type of guys they just are not talented enough and yes he is lazy at times. Face it you get what you pay for see the coach and backup goalie gm.

The only problem with that statement is you have no idea if Snow screws up draft picks because we haven't seen how they turn out yet.

You might not like the trade down, but Snow took 5 of the top 35 ranked players in last year's draft (including three with those trade down picks) including the second ranked European in the draft in the Russian.

We will see how it turns out, but time, not now, will tell. I remember Cowboys fans crying with Dallas traded away Hershel Walker and got a few stiffs from Minnesota and a ton of picks. Well, I'd say that deal worked out great for Dallas. They took a kid late in the first round named Emmitt somethingorother and those second and third rounders played key roles in Dallas' run to three titles in 4 years.

Is that going to happen with those kids? Who knows. But we won't know 5 months after the fact. They didn't know for two years after the fact in Dallas. So before you go on about how "Garth can't draft, let's see how some of those kids turn out".

As far as Comrie goes...if that is true about his attitude, deal him now. If you are rebuilding, you don't need a punk/sourpuss attitude in the lockerroom and on the ice to rub off on young kids. The whole idea to have vets in a "rebuild" is to show the kids the RIGHT WAY, not the wrong one.

If that is true of Comrie, deal him ASAP. Plus, you don't need a poison pill for a rookie head coach.

I will say this...in Ottawa he had 25 points in 41 games as a third line center. They very much wanted to bring him back, so I wouldn't say he did NOTHING in Ottawa. However, it is funny how playing on a winning team with talent will get certain players to play better/harder

They are paying Comrie quite a nice salary.

There are four teams that I SHOULD be doing trading for Bulin right now: The LA Kings, NY Islanders, Thrashers, and Maple Leafs.

Let's look at the Isles...

The Dipietro situation is "a big secret" right now. If he is out long term the following scenario is right up Garth Snow's alley. He is a great "outside-the-box" thinker.

The Blackhawks I believe would make the following trade:

Khabibulin and Cam Barker for Mike Comrie.

Are you saying to yourself that it is absurd? Is it?

Think about it. The Isles would LOVE to get Cam Barker for Mike Comrie right?

But why take on all that money from Khabibulin? Because you can ask for Barker to sweeten the deal and you can play Khabibulin who is in a contract year and just wait.

Just wait....and watch your investment grow...

As the deadline approaches a team with high expectations could always lose their goalie to LONG TERM injury. Look at the teams on the Cup Bubble...The Rangers, The Canadiens, The Pens, The Flyers, The Caps, The Sens, The Sharks, The Wild, The Canucks, etc...Any of those teams lose their goalie in Feb they fall behind in the race. No one wants to wish injury on anyone, but the reality is so many teams have a shot and not those teams wont be comfortable making a playoff run with their backup.

So now you are the NY Islanders. You will be able to move Khabibulin for some serious value to the team that needs him. You will get #1 pick + a few good prospects...you know, something that teams "living in the now" are perfectly comfortable giving up.

So potentially the Ny Islanders could give up Comrie for Cam Barker (who many consider a true blue puck moving D-man that they need) AND a #1 pick?

The NY Isles are going to probably have a pretty good #1 of their own in the next draft (which is a killer draft) and they could take their #1 and the #1 for Bulin and move from say #4 to #2 overall.

And at what cost?

Paying another #1 goalie #1 money while their #1 gets healthy?

WHY NOT?

i don't see the Hawks being THAT desperate.

Sounds nice though... You have to make that trade if it's on the table.

i don't see the Hawks being THAT desperate.

1st- DP doesn't make "number one" money. 4.5 mill is not number one goalie money in today's market. And it won't be 5 years from now either.

2nd- Why would chicago trade their #3 overall pick from 04 in Cam BArker? The kid is a 22 year old defensemen. Why would they want to deal him?

If I'm chicago, there is no way I move him. I'd just swallow Bulin's contract for the remainder of the year. IS it worth losing this kid to them to save paying 8 more months of Bulin's contract?

Ek has the best fantasies.

With all this "get rid of Comrie talk," what is the staus of Bailey's injury? What the heck, throw another young kid on the ice, it isn't going to make any difference this year. My point is, Bailey can play center on the second line. Yea, I know he hasn't even played one second yet, but like I said, how worse can it get?
