I must admit that Comrie has kept the "toe draggin" move to a minimum this year.

With all this "get rid of Comrie talk," what is the staus of Bailey's injury? What the heck, throw another young kid on the ice, it isn't going to make any difference this year. My point is, Bailey can play center on the second line. Yea, I know he hasn't even played one second yet, but like I said, how worse can it get?

Bailey so far behind, I doubt he can catch up to the NHLers pace a month into the season. He may get a look and I hope he flashes enough promise to stay but I would be surprised he is not back in juniors before Christmas.

You cant cut Comrie yet. The organization has to cut Gordon because it is obvious these guys will not and can not play for this bird

I do not think that is true at all. We have the least talented NHL roster, especially when much of our D is missing and our best and most important player in DP is on the shelf. He's no magic man. They need to put together 60 minutes and start getting some of the lucky bounces the Rag$ got Monday and then we can start to win more games. Gotta give Gordon more time before you can call for his head. I'd rather him right now than some experienced guy who is used to winning. Gordon is used to developing AHL rosters.

That said, we all knew this was a rebuilding year and we were gonna need patience with this group. Our record, though dissappointing, is not surprising to me.

Hopefully, June's draft and next years will be a foundation for good things for years to come.

Well right now the leafs are rebuilding also and they have a winning record so far because of excellent coaching in Ron Wilson :dontknow:

Fair point and they may be rebuilding but still possess some quality players and they have only won 4 of 10 games. They have a winning record due to the point system and have been blown out like us a few times. I do not see them getting to the playoffs.

That said, I did want an experienced guy when I thought our roster with a healthy DP could compete for a playoff spot. No that that is not a reality, Im glad we have young guy who has been teaching at the AHL for last several years.

If Comrie said that to Fritz, did he mean it? did he say it with a smile as in fooling with him? Words on paper can be deceiving. If he meant it in a disparaging way, then there is no room for it, aren't we all Islanders?

As far a khabibulin for Comrie....keep the Wall and we'll keep Comrie for now. I'd rather keep Joey Mac in goal until DP is ready to play and save the cash. If another deal comes along for Comrie that yields us a young d-man, I'd listen.

And the status on Josh Bailey? How much longer can it be, he's been day to day for over a month. :rotflmao:

Four out of ten isn't a winning record. Toronto is 4-3-3. Winning? Ha. TO has also given up 1 more goal than the Isles. Come December we'll see how successful Ron Wilson is with Toronto's roster.

I disagree that Snow can't draft. Like I4C said, picks need their time to develop. Not every pick is Crosby ready. I think a problem with the Isles and fans is that the team is rebuilding, but the fans say "ok, rebuild, but why aren't we winning right now? didn't we rebuild for a week?" The Isles record, while disappointing isn't surprising and is exactly the kind of record we should expect at the moment. Maybe when the d returns and DP returns, we'll see this system turn into more wins or at least OT loses.

lol its only 3 weeks into the season.. wait
After a narrow victory in 1994, Boston Bruins defenseman Al Iafrate was asked why, in the closing moments of the game, he had fired the puck around the boards rather than into the empty net. His reply? "Empty-net goals are for faggots"

I thought it was in jest, everyone always jumps the gun and thinks the worst. There is a team atmosphere as much as nobody like to think there is. Players share camaraderie - it's part of the whole team aspect.

I actually laughed when I read it, because I can see Comrie saying that over Fritz's shoulder.

You should have heard what Fritz said when they suggested Comrie take on the enforcer role.
Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.

What the heck is going on with Mike Comrie?

Here's what I have observed of him over the first month:

- Skating extremely slow and sloppy
- Making way too many behind the back - blind passes resulting in turnovers.
- Can't seem to stick handle
- Every move he makes seems sluggish and predictible.

I find myself screaming at my TV when I see him with the puck. He does not look like the same player we had a year ago. I have heard suggestions that he may be playing thru an injury, but I find that hard to believe - especially with the islanders shady injury policies.

So is it a slump or what? I'm stumped. I hope he turns it around. I have been this frustrated with an Islanders player since Oleg Kvasha!
