Life in the fast lane and commitment to hockey, can it be done? :letssee:

Kasparaitis did it for a while when he was young. They have Brangelina envy. heheh..

This would have been funny if she had like 4 dolls just hanging off her as Jolie has adopted kids from nearly every continent by now and I hear a Penguin will cover Antartica...perhaps she'll adopt Malkin

As for this pic...

Read this on Spector's Hockey - Trade Rumors a few mins ago...

Quote:

CBC.CA: During Saturday's "Satellite Hotstove" segment on Hockey Night in Canada Al Strachan reported the Thrashers were shopping Kari Lehtonen and also claimed the NY Islanders were shopping Mike Comrie but currently there's no market for him.

SPECTOR'S NOTE: The Thrashers will have to address their goalie situation soon but I don't think Lehtonen will be moving just yet as Waddell probably wants to be patient with hie and his roster before swinging any deals. As for Comrie, his $4 million salary isn't likely to attract much interest at this point in the season.

Not going to be easy getting anyone to take Mike"Panty Waste" Comrie off our hands... Wonder if Chicago could use him - they really want to unload the Bulin Wall - we could use an NHL goalie for a little while then trade him off at the deadline.. ok long shot, but I think he's be an easier sell at the deadline than Comrie. Someone's starting goalie could get injured...

ottawa was so interested in him, but couldn't sign him because of money or something. maybe we could do them a favor, say take some dude like spezza or heatley off their hands and will give 'em comrie. I'll even go as far and throw in bruno and tamby, maybe even give them yann denis. Okay, I'll give them fritz too, but thats my final offer.

hmm...please tell me your not trying to take credit for that idea...I'm sure your not but the way you said it in that post just made it sounds like your trying to take credit for that idea even tho it was a rumor from eklund like last week...

Do Comrie a favor and send him to LA where he belongs. We can get some nice prospects at least for him. At this point anything would be a fair trade for him. I offer him and Bruno for a used puck bag...u think anyone will bite?

No I don't take credit for the idea, though I do not read Eklund. It's been a topic of discussion between myself and a few fellow islander fans (in real life - not on boards) for several weeks. If Eklund posted that, well I must be one of his secret sources. I want royalties damnit! :)

Um, in a couple of more weeks it will only be 3 million. come january, 2 million.

He used to be a much better skater or at least very quick with his lateral movement.
The guy has and always had good hands but since the first few weeks of last season,
we haven't seen his shot.

We joke about the excessive toe-dragging, lazy skating and broken plays, poor coverage,
hanging etc.

He would be better suited and effective on a contending team. On a 3rd line or even second line with a sniper who gets a lot of respect where defenseman give them the zone.

On our Isles, we don't have snipers so teams can pressure this hammer-headed toe-dragging bastid
and render him ineffective.

I hope there are takers come trade deadline. We'll be lucky to get a 2nd rounder for him from a good team.

What did we get for good old Oleg anyway? Was it a free Oil Change for the team bus at Liffylube or was it the family size bag of M&M's?

Newsday also says that he may be next on Gordon's list for some quality "time on the pine".

If this guy is not injured there is absolutely no excuse for his lackluster play. Maybe after his crap attitude and even crappierr play we move him.

Right now he is worthless and if I'm a GM I either offer very little for him or wait it out. His stock will only go down.

What a slug.

The Islanders official statement is that he's being rehabbed for his hip that had surgery and is listed day-to-day pending the doctor's approval in Colorado , who is overseeing the rehab.

This is the official line from newsday....
Comrie close

Gordon updated the condition of Comrie, who is rehabbing his surgically repaired hip. "The only thing I've been told is the doctor in Colorado has said he's day-to-day," Gordon said. "He's doing rehab to strengthen it. He's taking anti-inflammatories. It's not anything that's severe

My own thoughts think it could be this or is just a cover for a benching so he can save face and us fans think his poor play was because of his hip hurting. :dontknow:

Knowing the history of this team with injuries, he was probably hurt a while ago. Sorry, but I have no faith in this franchise telling the truth regarding injuries. And to be honest, they can do what they please but it doesn't help the player, IMO.

Ok, correct me if I'm missing something and sorry for going off-topic a bit.

But, anyone else wonder how insurance companies feel if a player is "allegedly" out because of injury and they have to foot 80% of a players salary?

:dontknow:
