I thought that 80% is only for the remaining portion of a contract for a player that sustains a career ending injury.

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

Right On Time.
Tim Jackman (right now) is a BETTER hockey player than Mike Comrie?

Mike was given every chance but this team/coach/managment to suceed. First line, TON of PP time etc. I don't like to hate players on the Islanders but he is one I do. I am so glad to not see him out there on the ice. You think it is pure coincidence the way we have played the last few games? Sure we may lose three in a row, but my feelings won't change. We all get over Tambs, but how about this guy? This guy is our second highest paid players (Forward). The digs I can make go on and on.

I have to say that Snow knew what he was last year, he had his chance, we should have let him walk.... This isn't Monday morning QB. They talk about earning, earning, earning. Did anyone earn less than Comrie? The only thing that got him off the hook was his hip. That money is gone, but let's not suffer any-more by him playing or getting PP time etc.

Also I did want to give credit to Jackman... he stood out on 75% of his shifts the other night.

Feelings on Comrie.... (Also just his face and his way, eh pure hatrid)

He may be hurt, maybe not. I also remember some comments he made that were discussed here which labeled him as a dissenter. He is still on the roster, and listed as "day to day" (which, by the way, we're ALL DAY TO DAY, if you think about it :P ) he doesn't come up in any player talk you hear, like "we can't wait to get Comrie back" or whatever, no news on him except the mandatory he's working things out stuff, hell he ain't even shown in the press box. It's like he simply vanished off the ice, because he certainly vanished on it.

All of the above say to me that this can very likely be Gordo's doing and he is, in fact, benched for his poor play and crap attitude.

I know, it is a major assumption, but think about it.

The team is playing better without him, no one, not the media, the players or the organization are saying much about it. And Jackman is very obviously fitting into the system and is seen on every shift he gets. He is a Gordon type player, no doubt. And Comrie is not. No doubt.

Just my opinion. And if we move him for nothing it will prove out, I guess.

no wonder he's tired. I'm sure Hillary is getting more of that now too while he's out.
prolly why his hip won't heal.

I'm sick of his sh!t attitude.

From the Isles Beat blog

Quote:

Mitch Fritz scored on each end during line rushes. Obviously, when you say "punch" and Fritz, you're not talking about offensive punch. Maybe it was some kind of Freudian slip, but he lingered along the boards while the power play units were meeting right after that. He had to be summoned out of there. He said, "There's always hope!" Gordon recalled Comrie saying something to the effect of, "No there's not."

He just doesn't have the speed or the individual break-out skills to make it on this squad...and probably the league. Notice how well the Isles have played without him in the lineup?

Would the Isles get any compensation if we sent him down and he didn't make it through waivers?
