For the life of me, Steve, I'm astounded by the response from several Islander fans regarding the ice. First paragraph made fun of it, the rest was about the Canucks' poor performance. Nowhere did it suggest the team lost because of the ice, which is am embarrassment to the NHL. And the guy who told me so? Richard Park. It's the only game I've seen in years where at least six times a player caught his toe or heel in the mush and fell by himself. Now that's entertainment. Imagine how much better that game would have been for fans on good ice. Maybe 4-3 instead of 2-1. I'm glad you support your team. But it isn't good enough to make the playoffs and is considered a highly-beatable opponent by any decent team. I also wonder why, given this fierce support for the team, there were only 8,000 people in the building and the franchise is expected to move when it's arena referendum fails. Thanks for your email, Iain

wtf does he think Vancouver is? He's acting like Vancouver is an elite team. Last I checked, all the "experts" picked Vancouver to be a fringe playoff team. So perhaps he should stick that line about "making the playoffs is not enough' up his own pipe because that is the same boat Vancouver has been in for a decade.
When the FFFF has vancouver EVER been a team even approaching elite for this clown to have such an attitude.
Yes, the nvmc is is bad. It has been for a decade. We get that. But for him to have that throw in line at the end.... perhaps if Vancouver had history of their own they'd have a right to feel superior.
FFF this idiot. Another BC guy with an inferiority complex because his team has never amounted to anything...and won't this season.

I couldn't imagine why such a Canuck fan would hate the Isles....
No reason for posting this, but here's a photo from the aftermath of game 4 of the 1982 Stanley Cup finals...

Maybe. But Luongo is one of the best goalies in the league and will likely be Canada's starting goalie in 2010 unless Broduer comes back healthy and keeps playing.
