good read. i think Wang is nuts for wanting Condos built. that should be the first thing off the list for the lighthouse project.

It ain't ever gonna happen in most of our lifetimes. Certainly not in the current future the way the economy is. There is nothing to prove that a new building with higher prices will sell any more tickets than they do now anyway. I can't afford to go to the current Collisium so a new one with more expensive everything will not get me coming back. In the 90s when things were good and prices were reasonable I went to 15 to 20 games a year. Those days are long gone.

Wang is gonna have to build his own Collisium and continue to lose money if he wants to keep the team here. Otherwise it is only a matter of time until they move. If the Quebec Nordiques can be moved when they sell out their building every night then any team can be moved.

Le Colise in Quebec was smaller than NMVC when you add in the lack of lux. boxes and inability to make corporate ties in Quebec to make the team more profitable. It also killed the Nords that the Canuck dollar was so weak in the 90's.

I really have to wonder wtf this broad is thinking saying of Bettman, "that guy isn't even on my radar". Really? While I think he's a joke as a commish, he runs the league of the only ffffing pro team on LI so he should be on your radar.

I agree that something will start as far as groundbreaking within 18 months, but I don't think it will be the "grand plan" that Wang has. Things will get compromised. BTW...what is Wang hoping to break ground on in July...not NMVC since it will take more than 2 months to do anything to that building.
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them
