I hate to hear that kind of news Jerry. Hope you feel better soon. So we lost. We have been playing great hockey and winning a fair share of games and we've all been enjoying it. We're not Detroit, we're going to lose some games. We got spanked today, both on the scoreboard and physically. It happens to growing teams. How about Tim Jackman's face from his play. He came to play. One look at that face and you realize it's easy to be a fan. Tomorrow is another day and a team we've beat twice. You really cant count what happened after MacDonald was pulled. That was run the clock out, dont get hurt time, as Jaffe said. Up to the point when Guerin missed on the breakaway, this was a good game, even though we were getting out played, we were in this game on the road, again. So it blew up, we are just taking baby steps. They are listing Josh Bailey in the lineup tomorrow so I guess he's here to grow. Okposo returns, Thompson's back in. Maybe Tamby's out, and maybe Witt will become faster to play on this team. I almost want Bruno back and Witt out....almost. Those who are killing Weight and Sutton, let me ask you this. Who's been responsible for the wins we have been getting? These two have been playing great and one lousy outing and it's off with their heads? Where is the call for Hunter, Hilbert, Sim, Streit, Campoli, and the rest of them? They lost this as a team right after that breakaway. We try again tomorrow. If we take two steps forward after today we're going the right way. |

Bruno Gervais isn't going to solve this team's problems. At best, on a real good hockey team, he's a scratch on most nights. It's obvious Witt came back too soon. His mobility has declined. But then again, his partner Martinek looks like he's skating in mud too, worrying about the next injury to happen. Physically, this is a frail hockey team. Playing good hockey isn't coughing up leads either. It's a sign of a bad hockey team. What will solve the problems is two to three years of good drafting. "Killing Sutton and Weight" has nothing to do with the direction of this team. These are players who are in the twilight of their careers that should be with a playoff contender. Perhaps Snow will wisely use the deadline to pile up some picks. The team this year isn't good enough for the playoffs. Management can pretend it is and keep offering incentives to buy ticket packages "and get the same seats for the playoffs." But for those who exist in the reality of the situation, giving the players who will be back next season the important minutes is key to any franchise's progress as they rebuild. There will be those who state we need vets like Sutton, Guerin, Weight, etc. to bring a calming influence. Last I looked many times the vets have been on the ice as the team folded like a cheap camera. Perhaps the "overspeed" system is too exhausting for the Social Security bunch. |
