Born during the 1993 Stanley Cup. How heartbreaking is that?

I really like this decision. I have been very impressed by the play of this kid thus far, hopefully he can kee it up.

Great move by the organization. They didn't take the cheap way out by sending him back to Juniors and saving a year on his contract. Bailey is clearly our best young player and I'm happy to see that he will remain an Islander. I have a feeling that within a month or two when he's fully comfortable playing at the NHL level that he will be helping the team even more. His vision and his passing ability is unreal. |

Absolutely, Snowman. The organization took a hit for trading down twice to get him (including from your truly), but he's the best prospect this organization has had in over a decade. He' s created a lot of excitement with his vision and passing ability and I look forward to wacthing his development for the remainder of the year and beyond. He and Nielsen have been the best surpseises of the year thus far. |

That is a sad commentary on the state of this organization if Bailey is the best prospect during the last 10 years. He's a decent player (albeit over a 9 game stretch), but by no means a star...and yet he's the best thing in an Isles uni? Yikes.

Just keep this kid away from Tambellini . Don't let them play together on the same line. |

This is a good move by the organization. He's got nothing more to prove in JRs, he can develop here at this level with KO. |

Good. He'll have some experience when he sends his pretty passes to Tavares next season. |

In Garth I Trust
|
what...being creator of an awesome website isn't enough??? I'm thrilled that Bailey is going to stay for a few reasons. One...it is clear from his play that he's ready to stay and all a sendback to the jr's would do is have him playing in a different system against opposition not as talented. Two...he's already earned Gordo's trust with all the PP time he's been getting. he's looked very stong on the PP moving the puck about quickly and not allowing the defense to shift and set up. That has been a nice thing to see with our PP...both Bailey and Weight have the ability to move the puck quickly and not allowe the D to shift and then settle. The move you keep the D rotating the box, shifting and not getting into postion, the move passing lanes you open up and the more you wear out the PK. Three... I was hoping Bailey andKO would be played together and left alone for the "9 game tryout". Now, hopefully it will happen for the entire season once KO comes back. Welcome to LI Josh. |
I miss these and want more of them ![]()

I humbly apoligze to Garth Snow for beating him up for his selection of Josh in the first round. This kid has got the stuff to be great real soon. This is really no surprise as the kid is unbelievably talented. I look forward towards watching him develop. Good move, Garth!! |

Thank God they kept him. Without him and Okposo there would be absolutely nothing to watch on offense. Now it is time to expand his ice time and play him with the best players. He has poise and looks ready for the challenge. I give Snow an A+ on last years draft now after watching Bailey play. He is very mature and never looks out of place on the ice. He is gonna get better and better and may turn out to be the steal of his draft. Hopefully we can divulge ourselves of some of these older vets at the trade deadline and set ourselves up for another great draft. |

I love the decision and agree, he really had nothing left to prove down in Juniors. I dislike the excuse that he could have benefited from winning the cup with the Spitfires - winning isn't everything, and it's not even proven that it translates to anything in the NHL. Congrats Josh, we are glad you are an Islander. |

The only thing I don't like about this is that now Okposo and Bailey are going to hit Free Agency in the same offseason... |
