Not for 'nuthin, but I went to a couple Devil games this year (since it's a block from work and the tickets are free) and they have a balcony area on each goal section that houses four cheerleader types in skimpy outfits. Now don't get the Rifle wrong, he loves the ladies, but these girls are dog belly ugly. Must be a prerequisite for the job. And they didn't have boobs, thay had TEATS, Six of them...heh, heh.

Since they're so ugly, instead of ICE BREAKERS, they can rename them "Mirror Shatterer's" Yet another stupid marketing idea. Obstruct the view, block the aisles and try to make the whole experience better when all the fans really care about is the team on the ice. |

IQ- That might be the best/most appropriate use of an emoticon ever on this board. This cannot be the best "talent" Long Island has to offer? You can cruise any of the clubs on Hempstead Tpk and find 10 better on any dancefloor. That said, I don't want cheerleaders at hockey games. WTF? Hockey doesn't have cheerleaders and if they block my view of the game..."down in front"!!!!! |
I miss these and want more of them ![]()

ice breakers fire back on bottas blog We received an email from one of the Ice Breakers in response to our criticism of the whole enterprise last Saturday. Very politely, she let me know that they are still a team of FireDancers, the dance squad from the AFL Dragons - even though Charles Wang no longer owns the arena football team. She said the Ice Breakers are waiting for a “large rug” to be delivered to the Coliseum to serve as a dance floor and they hope to perform a major routine in the near future. She said her team is comprised of outstanding professional dancers. “You will be blown away by what we can do,” she wrote, concluding with, “It is a work in progress. Please do not bash us just yet”! |

I was just reading some fan comments on Botta's blog re: Avery article and scrolled down to post game vs Atlanta and found this quote from one of the Ice Breakers.![]()
"Blown away? Between periods, we fight our way through crowd to use the restroom, get crappy food/drink or maybe souvenirs for our kids. The last thing on our minds is watching a cheap rendition of MTV like Britney Spears video dancing even though it is from "professional dancers". Live bands, more famous and prolific in their careers have played before, during and after games and while many of them failed to "blow us away", they barely left an impression on us. Why would dancers? get over yourselves girls. do your thing, but please get over yourselves. |
