Great to have you here!!

hey, love the avatar of Tomas.

One of the most under appreciated Islanders IMHO. I wore his #3 jersey back in the day, only remember seeing one or two others.

301 eh???, then you probably remember me from the 90's
and NOT for wearing my LaFontaine or Trottier jersey either.

I was the clown that actualy spent money on a white Mikko Makela #24 jersey
sitting up in section 304.

That was you?!?!?!? Thanks for the good chuckle :rotflmao: :P

Mikko Makela.

What am I laughing at? He did have 36 goals/76 points one year. Today, with numbers like that, we'd be paying him 7 million a year and signing him to 5 year deal.
I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

hey hey HEY, easy there godfather!

:P

I did have a Billy Harris, Mike Bossy, Denny Potvin and Trottier jersey too.

But yeah, I had to go and get a Makela jersey.
he ws also the worst guy to try and get an autograph from.
Not that he wouldn't sign anything, he'd sign. He had NO personality.

By the way, anyone interested in a size 44 vintage authentic autographed
Mikko Makela jersey?
(purchased at Cosby's not syosset sports)

Mikko, I loved his name and he could score some goals. Oddly enough he was traded to LA for Hubie McDonough and Ken Baumgartner.

As for the clown in 304, that might apply to lots of people over there..... Our seats are down low and my view of your section is blocked by the tv cameras.

I was half way up on the aisle.

Sure you remember this...
between us was section 302, back in the late 80's early 90's that husband and wife always screamed,
"get off the ice KIng you suck".

That was annoying. If they didn't sit so far up, I'd throw pretzel remnants at them but
unfortunately the drop down ceiling with the tv's prevented me from launching them high enough to reach and, uh, ok, the truth is, the guy was like 6'6 and I'm like 5'9 so I'd be outta my mind to do anything.

Up In 301- Tomas Jonsson, he was a good player. Played for the 1980 Swedish Olympic team. He was under appreciated, and I also liked Billy Carrol. Both of them ended up in Edmonton.

The King haters seem familliar. Of course I have the cowbell a few rows behind me, but we seem to be a pretty well behaved section <g>.

In 2001 The Isles signed what was suposed to have been a legit star in Yashin. As we all found out, things turned out different. Ill be changing my name soon.

Greetings gang....typical story here. Life long fan finds board, life long fan hates the Rangers, fan moves to Maryland but finds message board, fan registers, fan post introduction and says hello to everyone!

GD = the un-PC way of saying "Gosh" Damn

P = Prof (college nickname)

27 = JT...best assist ever and the subject of my favorite non-shot clock banner ever at the NVMC, "JT Phone Home." Whoever did the art on that has talent!

Happy to be here folks!

wow Ive been on this site a while and overlooked this thread.my nickname Whiplash has nothing to do with hockey.I've been racing demolition derbies at riverhead raceway for 20 years. In demo racing we dont use numbers we use nicknames for the spectator interaction.my real name is Bob or Bobby but more people call me by my nickname in person than my real name.not a day goes by where i play my voicemail or answering machine and hearing someone asking for whip or whiplash so i use it for my screenname where ever i go on the net.
