What's Your Name?; Don't know if this has ever been done...

My real name is Chris. My hockey # is 18.

Yes, it took a looooooong time to come up with something as stunning as Chris18 out of that. No really. There was the question of spelling out "eighteen", or removing the capital C. Or (gasp), a SPACE between them! That one caused smoke to rise from my ears.

This thread is great!  I 've had a lot of fun reading everyone's posts!  SYBO had me rolling...twice!

And yes yes, I am Danny B IN Tennessee, not Danny Bin anything...and I'm pretty sure it's not a southern thing either:yea:
Speaking of it all, it looks like I'm gonna be Danny B in Georgia by the end of next month!

Sounds like an upgrade to me, they have teeth in Georgia don't they? Not even mentioning the center of Southern Rap...I'm lookin at you HOTLANTA!

Upgrade to say the least! Hour and a half outside of Atlanta/the gf makes it worth it alone!

I think I finally figured out DannyBinTennesse's name.

Danny B in Tennessee and not Danny Bin Tennessee.

God, I feel stupid.
All along I was convinced that he was some kind of southern
Al Qaeda sleeper cell fundamentalist.

:bag: :P ;)

I'm glad I wasn't the only person who thought that.

Totallypucked is a play on words, pretty simple, I just inserted a "p" for an "f," but I like the name. You've got the hockey reference and the fact that I can be totally (you know what) in the head.

Oh, and as an added bonus to my name, sometimes people on the board refer to me as "TP" which I get a kick out of. "Need tp for the bunghole!"

The picture I have in my avatar is a Pierre Turgeon poster that I used to have, and the signiature is James Hetfield from Metallica. Also, I like to tap dance.

Have to be honest with you TP. Greatest name on the boards, IMO.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

Simply put -

K is my first initial

P is my middle initial

M is my last initial

My last name starts with MATT, so I shortened that to MATS (figured it was a good sounding hockey nickname)

My hockey # was 10.

For what it is worth I have met him.  When i was kid he was driving by while my friends and I were playing street hockey.  he got out of the car and signed sticks and stuff.  Nice gesture.  Just thought he did a terrible job with the team.  In all aspects.  I know there were alot of shanningans and ballyhoo with owners and such.  But as I look around and see all the great talent we had drafted and let slip through our fingers I weep.  Milbury should be in charge of drafting.  He did a great job with that and thats all.

Mike Milbury recently took the time to answer a letter I wrote to him. I had some questions about the franchise, the security at games, and the direction of the team. He answered my questions professionally. It's nice to know they are responsive there.

MM was a warrior as a player for the Bruins, a guy who made himself into an eventual All Star. He was given a bad rap, IMO. He made mistakes. He would be the first to say so. But he made his mistakes in trying to rebuild the franchise.

He also made some very good trades but will never get credit for it.

And when DP leads us to our next Cup, maybe somebody out there will say, "MM actually helped us..."

Regardless of Mike Milbury's personality or kindness, his ten years as GM of this franchise was an abomination. Looking at it in a general sense, the guy couldn't build a team that could even win a playoff round in ten years. That's pathetic. Buffalo and Ottawa had monetary problems in recent years as well, but they managed to stay competitive.

More specifically, all this guy had to do was sit on his hands and he would have had an All-Star team. He could've not moved a single draft pick the team made from 1995-2000, and this team would be ridiculously good. His decisions were awful at every level, from the coach right on down the line.

Wow, that must have been something. That's what I consider their prime, the days when they really knew how to thrash. That Dave Mustaine fellow didn't do too bad for himself after he was kicked out of the band.

Well my name isn't hockey related, just a message board name I have used forever.

It all started back in HS when I was into DJing and stuff - I couldn't use Tech on AOL (God, who uses AOL anymore...lol) so I went to Teknics41. For those who cannot see the connection - Technics are a brand of turntables....yes - turntables (again...who uses turntables anymore? LOL)

The 41 in my screen name however, IS my hockey number. I wanted 14 but an upperclassman had it. Fast forward 10 years later and I still use it for hockey when I can.

Anyways, My name is Mike - grew up in Bethpage and I live in Copiague now. I am 26 - been a life long Isles fan, first year Season Ticket Holder (309 Row B ).

I am an HVAC Mechanic - and I am also an Automotive Writer/Photographer. I have written for several nationally distributed truck magazines and now I am a contributing writer/photographer for X7 Media, which runs two websites - www.truckblog.com and www.musclecarblog.com.

It's been an interesting hobby that has grown into something I never thought it would!

But anyways, that's me!

Great thread!
