asham45, arron is from my home province of manitoba, and the mike thomas hockey school ,in which he does, has shown a lot of native youth that if you work hard and believe in yourself you can attain your dreams, cos 2 of my nephews went there and believe in themselfs, but if they do not play pro but they have a path now...and plus asham is one tough S.O.B ( cant wait for avery in the rags next game, march 5)

Ben: If you need a quick Islanders hockey fix, you should definitely log onto NYITV now because they have all the highlights of the games.

I wish they use Asham at the point on the 5 on 3s instead of Satan. Asham has a wicked shot and would be one player the defenders would have to play.

Ok... the last time I was at the coliseum I had too many kids reading my 7th Woman jersey and saying "What the hell is that?" "What does that mean?"

I guess three years later, and too many newbies, and the name's become a mystery.

I won the NHL 7th Man contest in 2004, but was not honored for it because the Islanders were in the playoffs that year, and the next year was the lockout. The "honor" (ha ha ha ha) came on 1/14/06. But I'll be 7th Woman for life, as the NHL no longer wants to have that contest. They only did it for two years. But there was too much disparity between teams and how they handled things.

ta - da!

So now you know if you didn't.

I got my jersey. Which is incorrect... it was supposed to say "04" not "4" and four tickets to the game where JD talked to me for 22 seconds and the mike cut out.

If you want to really laugh your butt off over the entire sordid story, you can check out the entry in my web journal from January of 06.

it was... how should I say this... an experience....

Well, good for you that you were recognized. I hope you come back next season. I felt the same way you do right now when Mark Parrish was traded. Well, my wife especially was upset. Keep the faith. The Isles can't afford to lose fans like you.

Haha you are kidding, when i was a boy, i remember watching Cardiff Devils against the Steelers and there was like 4 fights, and it was a high scoring game, lots of high incidents etc, and that was the 1st time i got hooked on hockey! im Welsh and Cardiff are the only Welsh team.

Its been kinda strange this year (with the admittidly i dont follow it an awful lot, but from what ive seen, you have coventry and belfast up top, then sheffield, nottingham, cardiff, and maybe manchester, then its the rest fighting for scraps.

Doesn't that make the Isles 2-2 in the 7th fan competition? They also won with the soldier who stood on his tank in the deserts of Iraq with his orange Isles jersey on.

He was on the Washington telecast at the game with the Howie Rose for President sign.

Best fans- :isles:
