The Isles have called up defenseman Joe Callahan on an emergency basis from Bridgeport to take Sutton's place. Enforcer Mitch Fritz once again is on the shuttle from Bridgeport as a regular callup to take Thompson's place in the lineup against the rugged Flyers. http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/hockey/islanders/blog/ |

He coughs up the puck in the offensive zone and realizes a goal is about to be scored so he dives onto the bench so Mark Streit can take the negative.

+/- is also an offensive stat. Not that he's been lighting it up, but this indicates he was on the ice during a good amount of our 5 on 5 goals because we know he's also been on the ice when a lot of goals were given up, maybe even lots of pp goals because +/- doesn't count on the PP unless a SHG happens. |

I like Sutton like I said with my whole "dream plan" I can see him being a great 6th defenseman. If we get Komisarek then I will

It's most likely a lot of pp goals where it wouldn't effect his +/- He is usually out there the whole time on a PP. It's really the only way to dodge a bad +/- while being bad if you know what I mean. |
