I don't see the point if he can't be assigned to Bport? What happens if (and when) no one claims him?

I wonder if he speaks Finnish....

He got 3 years because Garth didn't plan for the team to bomb in 07-08. Sim was supposed to fit a system that turned out to be unsuccessful. Snow didn't fk up.

I'm glad Sim is placed on waivers. He wasn't doing anything impressive out there. I'd like to see more Fritz out there. No one needs to teach him to fight. I enjoyed his fight against Riley Cote.

Don't get too excited. Botta seems to think that if he's not claimed he will remain on the roster and not be sent to Bridgeport. I doubt anybody is going to claim him he's awful.

Interesting.... Stay tuned since Botta says this is for a reshaping.

Comeau isn't going anywhere so you know that's a roster spot which will stay filled. Tambellini is going to be back at some point as well for his final shot. Once Okposo and Comrie come back, where do guys like Sim fit in? The answer is that they don't fit in anyplace. I'm not really sure what kind of roster reshaping Botta is talking about but it will be interesting to see who stays and who goes leading up to the deadline.

This is a GREAT move. Finally, I have been calling for this for awhile. With the youth movement, he was taking up a spot that could be for a youngster - particularly when Tambellini, Neilsen and Okposo come back.

Not part of the core or a serious part of the future - goodbye.

Just to bring up the past a bit, he did have major knee surgery before we could tell if he was a keeper. It is obvious now that the three year contract is bad, but if he didn't blow out that knee you never know. I can't fault the management on this one.

I agree with the move and hope they can purge the team of it older 3rd 4th liners and exchange them for the new younger ones with potential upside.

Purging a Sim wont matter. The Isles aren't going to bring up Smith or Jesse or Colliton to play 4th line minutes. They'd rather those kids play 20+ minutes a night at Bridgeport.

Sim is fine for what he is...a 4th liner who can throw his body around a little. Problem is that isn't what he's asked to do here. He's asked to be more than he is...just as we have asked in the past of Richard Park, Andy Hilbert and others because we don't have the talent to fill those spots with legit 1st and 2nd line talent.

What we have isn't a "cream rising to the top" situation. We have foam rising to fil in the empty spots from below. Hopefully, the youth will be able to fill those holes on lines 1-2 in the future so true 3rd liners can goback to being that and true 4th liners can go back to being that.

Sim is out to make room for Comeau when Tambellini comes back.

It looks to me as if Comeau played his way back into a permanent spot.

This is exactly what happened. Comeau beat out Sim pretty much. Tambellini gets his final chance.

Yeah, but it allows guys like Comeau and Jackman to stay up without getting into number problems.

how does releasing one player on the 4th line open up playing slots and time for two players?

What happens if he doesn't get claimed? Which is what i'd expect.

Will we then release him? Or would we keep him as a spare part?

Spare part, especially with our injury luck, imo.

I'd guess he'd be a healthy scratch alot.

Dont let Tambellini back thru the door. ;)
