So if this losing continues, does it pay to NOT send Bailey to the World Juniors?

Nick, I've been quite here, i already said my peace many times about Bailey and recently posted them on Botta's blog.

Quote:

Why is Josh here? Answer is simple, marketing and ticket sales. I’ve been alone sometimes in thinking he should have been sent back to junior with the small taste of the NHL so he can be in a winning environment and then enjoyed the chance of a Canadian boys lifetime by representing his country. Now he won’t do either. Way to go Garth, selfish. If he’s that mentally sound, then send him back so the physical aspect can be sound as well. An NHL season is very taxing but everyone bought into Josh mania from Snow.

I've felt alone maintaining that Josh Bailey would be better suited in being returned
to Windsor and captaining that team after a short 9 game taste of NHL life.
Maybe ending the year with positives as his body and muscle mass catch up to his obvious hockey sense.

An 82 game NHL season is taxing enough on a game breaking player like Kane, Toews (both with better speed/agility) and others who step in early and achieve success.
It's likely more taxing on a good kid like Bailey who, sorry to say, isn't a game breaker yet.

But even my favorite disagreed with me, Billy Jaffe. Who believed they made the right decision in keeping him here. That's fine.
Either way, we can rationalize it as a win win situation for our Isles and Bailey long term.
He gets the taste of what is needed to succeed at the NHL level but unfortunately misses out on something he can't get back.

Anyway, I'm rambling, I think the biggest reason it's a win win is that we have a Josh Bailey, period.

I knew they'd lose big and it would be ugly but I just heard the score this morning and have to say - there's ugly and then there's Islanders Ugly.

Is it June yet?

I guess I should be happy that I drank way too much at my company holiday party and missed this entire game. I had to laugh this morning when I saw the score. We are now tied with Atlanta and Tampa for last place in the league. You know we'll lose the lottery and pick 3rd.

LOL, I drank too much at my company holiday party last night too and Thank God I missed the game but when I heard the score today I wasn't too shocked. (As I walked into work today, my buddy can't stop talking about the game.) Maybe we were at the same party?

NYI are positively awful! Merry Christmas bud.

Last season I lost interest from the middle of March and couldn't watch them anymore. This season, that might begin even earlier.

Stocks are taking a beating today.

even in a game where the wheels fall off completely, it is absolutely clear that Danis is REALLY bad...
...and I haven't seen the "system" in a LONG while now....unless the new system is chase the puck all night :dontknow:

It's gonna be great to to see 50 more games of this, only to have the bad luck bleed into the lottery draw...and we don't get the coveted #1 or #2 pick. Perhaps there should be a suicide watch counter on the homepage leading up to the lottery.

...tomorrow would be a good time to begin the 10 game winning streak

Apparently, that's the attitude at the team website. There is NO MENTION of the score or that there was a game played last night.

Maybe it didn't happen!?

If this continues we cant pick worst than 2nd in the draft. You can move up 5 positions but you can only move back 1 at the most.

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

there will be a 3 way tie for worst record lol. We'll be in 3rd in terms of standings cause of more goals or something and wind up picking 4th!

Whoever said it, I agree. The system seems to be chase the friggin' puck like a bunch of mites.

Why is it that our opponents set up in the zone, pass at will, shoot, get the rebound, do it again, and eventually it goes in. AT EVEN STRENGTH.

Us, we get one perimeter shot and it's back the other way they come.

We are a joke tonight and perhaps we've been fooled by everything. Maybe the system, the coach, the FA's were all done on purpose so we really suck, Wang doesn't get his arena and we move to Toledo or Medicine Hat or something.

Man, I am SOOOOOOO pissed right now.

Apparently, there's some kind of form you can fill out that counts any loss by more than 5 points as a practice for the other team.

Won't matter, we'd trade down anyway.

off the board and draft Yukamuto Hudafukizzit.

Gordon Type player. He's the one pressuring the kid with the puck.

Scouting report:

Positives: Great leadership ability.

Negatives: Only battles for 40 minutes.
