I am officially proclaiming that Jeff Tambelllini sucks. He's not worth the roster spot. How much longer do we wait for this 'sniper' to score. he had a chance on a partial breakaway, but with his 'speed' a defenseman caught up to him. He's invisible and with the exception of that shot has nothing to even show he played last night. he's soft, 0 hits, 0 blocked shots. He's worthless, 1 shot, never in a good position to shoot. Now Tim Jackman gets called up and is visible every shift. The guy came in with purpose and worked hard, played physical and was in the right position to net a goal. He had a goal, 4 hits and 2 blocked shots. I see Jackman as the next Dave Scatchard for this team and if we send him back to bridgeport before permanently sitting Tambellini I will be very upset with management and their ability to put the best team on the ice with the resources they have. GARTH, TRADE, WAIVE OR SIT JEFF TAMBELLINI ONCE AND FOR ALL. ADMIT THIS PROJECT WAS A MISTAKE AND MOVE ON. THE SPOT BELONGS TO TIM JACKMAN. |

If your referring to his shot very late, I think it was in the final minute? He had the puck right in the slot—if I remember it correctly? I got really excited and nothing. |

Oh, you mean the one where he was wide open in front of the net, got the pass, and then proceeded to FALL BEFORE THE PUCK GOT TO HIM. It's a good thing there was another Isle right behind him or we might have given up an odd-man rush the other way. |

When our fourth line center has 3 goals and 3 assists in 12 games and our first line sniper has 0 goals and 1 assist it should be obvious to our coach and GM that new personnel is needed in that first line position. We have a 1st place minor league team, surely there's someone deserving of a chance to see what could be. |

Jackman isn't the answer to replace Tambellini. One good game does not a good player make. Have to give Jackman some time to prove he's a good replacement. Although, I do agree with the sentiment that it is time for the Tambellini saga to end. Let's get Comeau back on the Islanders and find a new home for Tambellini and Comrie (had to throw Comrie under this bus, too). Don't get me wrong, Tambellini has looked better in the last 3 games than previous ones, but the improvement isn't much. |

So are you ready to defend the general manger, coach if Tambellini goes to another club and starts scoring the way Todd Bertuzzi did or will you turn it around on the Islanders and blame them for a Milbury-like decision for not giving him a full chance if he is dealt? He will not clear waivers, so forget Bridgeport. He also has a very friendly second year contract that makes him a bargain at any level. If you move Tambellini now unless you get a player or equal or better talent at the same age it's a move exactly like Milbury would make. |

Every season we have some form of "Remove this guy or that guy" thread. Last year it was Bergeron, before that its been Yashin, Hilbert, York, Bates, Niinimaa, etc. Fans seem to have a tendency to blame one guy or another for the team's follies. Tamby has been frustrating with flubbed passes and miscues. However, Tambellini wasn't the reason that the team was outshot 18-1 in the third yesterday (he actually got the only shot off), and he hasnt been the reason that the team's blown four third period leads in a row. Unlike some high-paid veteran who is stinking up the ice, Tambellini is making the league minimum. Plus Gordon has shown that he has no problem scratching him if he feels he is contributing the least. This is a developmental year, and players like Tambellini are being tried out to see if they can play at this level. None of our 06 or 08 draft picks are ready to contribute yet, so there is no reason he shouldnt be getting the chance to play, which has been something this franchise hasn't done with young players for the last decade. |

Tamby isn't going anywhere for atleast 40 games and I don't think he should. If this kid is having a "crisis of confidence", well, it is HIS OWN FAULT. He's had no pressure on him. His roster spot was secure. He's getting minutes from day one this season. He has a multi year deal. All the excuses that were made by the apologists for this kid last year aren't there this year. However, with that said he isn't not going to be traded before Jan 1. nor should he be. He has 90+ nhl career games, but this is his first full stint with the big club where he's here and not going. I'm going to wait on him to produce...which he hasn't done AT ALL yet. But in my mind, if he doesn't get anything done by the mid point of the season, I will not cry if he's dealt before the deadline. I don't see a point in moving him to Bport because he'll never get there. He will be picked up off waivers and we'll get nothing for him. We aren't going anywhere and the whole point of a youth movement is to let the youth move...or try to and it takes more than 15 games for that to happen. My issue is with Tambelini, Gervais and Franz is I've never thought they were nhl calibre talent or were going to develop into it. I HOPE I'M WRONG, but they need to be given the chance to show they can or can't. So far, imho, all three have shown they can't and Gervais has shown it for 3 seasons. I hope these kids progress, but I don't think they will. |

I don't understand what the fascination with Tambellini is. We all know going in to the season that he would get til Jan/Feb to prove he belongs. This is nothing new. If he plays the same way by that point, then something obviously needs to be done. I am more frustrated with Gervais, who has actually taken steps BACKWARD. Why don't people focus on him a bit? He has been on the major league level for years and has shown no improvement. Everytime you look at a goal against us, #8 is usually there. Example: goals 2 and 3 against us last night. He doesn't take the body, constantly loses the battles in the corners and is prone to turnovers. Why isn't there a remove Gervais thread? He has actually had a golden chance (moreso than Tambellini) and done nothing with it. As soon as the injured d-men return, I don't want him on the ice again. My patience has run out with him. He belongs in the AHL. |

I never regretted trading Bertuzzi. He was a bum when he was here, and didnt do anything for us. When he became something it didnt matter because he didnt do it here for us, period. Same with Tamby. Let him go somewhere and score 30 because he's not doing it here and not going to do it here. He's here 91 games and has 4 goals. And worry about getting someone of equal talent? Yea, give me someone else who's inept at the NHL level, that would be equal. What good is a friendly second year contract good for with a guy who has an NHL unfriendly game? A sale on crap doesnt change the fact it's still crap you're buying. Please, let him get waived and claimed and we wont have to pay for his ineptitude. Your arguments hold no water with me. We have better guys to play in that position, just about anyone would be better, and we are an NHL team the last time I checked, and it's time to put your best foot forward and remove the lead weights around our necks. It's time for Garth to do the job he was hired for. It's time to give someone else a chance. |

There's absolutely zero reason to cut Tambellini. We have the luxury of being as patient as we want to be this year. Play the players who may have a future and re-evaluate at the end of the season. He's not hurting the team to have him there, this team is going nowhere anyway. Jackman has zero chance to impact this team in the long term. I swear, no matter how "Prepared" fans were to rebuild, it seems like very few fans have actually embraced it. |
