Nate Thompson (unknown injury) and Mike Sillinger (groin) also did not practice.
Bailey has been listed as “day-to-day” with a sprained ankle.

what is going on with Thompson? He's sometimes "in" and most of the time "out" for games. Is there some sporadic injury bug plaguing this team?

too bad for Bailey. i hope each game he net's his 1st. the kid wants it BAD.

Another injury, no surprise.

But to list him day-to-day is cruel. With this club that could mean 3 months.

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

It's our strength and conditioning staff. Wang and Snow probably tried to cut the cheap corners (once again) and they went out and hired 3 losers on steroids with zero brains from the local gym to create the Isles staff.

Seriously, it's our staff. This team is not NHL conditioned.

Radek Martinek sustained a paper cut while mailing Christmas Cards. He is currently listed as day-to-day.

I guess the whole secretive injury thing the Islanders were doing at the beginning of the season is done, since we know Bailey's ankle is hurt and Sillinger hurt his groin.

Newsday helped to pummel the Islanders out of the secretive injury reporting regardless of the fact that most teams were doing it.

Nate Thompson, 2-4 weeks with a fractured ankle? Who they kidding. that's an 8 week injury, before he laces up the skates to start conditioning again.

Nielsen, Okposo, and now Thompson. I guess the rebuild is on hold for most of this year. These are guys who will be key in the future of the Islanders and was to use this season to gain the experience and responsibility as leaders of this club.

I've been tuning in to see these guys play. Now with Bailey out, why tune in? To see Witt and Sim?

This has been a wasted year as far as the rebuilding goes. None of our young players has been able to stay on the ice for any length of time.

I guess the rebuilding plan has to be extended another year.
