Nice flurry of shots by the Isles. The record should show that the crowd actually sounded pretty scared for a few seconds. Not bad for a game where we are seriously overmatched.

yeah, what the hell he doesn't even register as an islander to me... and yet he seems to always be on the ice AND doing something with the puck... likely shooting it right into the goalie's chest causing a faceoff where he can discretely slip out of view

For those who stayed up to watch, we saw an example of "what we are now" and "what we hope to be" watching this game.

The Sharks were FASTER, STRONGER, COMPETED ALL 200' OF THE ICE and dominated battles for loose pucks.

I can't believe the Isles even got this game to within 1 goal with a minute left, but then we see things that just kill us...little things that a team like SJ doesn't do (until the playoffs when they get bounced by round 2).

We just scored to put the game within one so there is a face off at centerice. We put "Andy" MacDonald (I watched the SJ feed...pair of douches those two announcers) back in net and prepare to pull him if we win the faceoff.

We do win the faceoff right on to the stick of Chris Campoli. What does Campoli do? He has no one coming at him for a good 6 seconds with the puck. Does he skate it over the red line and dump it? No. Do he make a good pass? No. He stands flatfooted and then ICES THE PUCK. He was trying to make a lead pass, but it missed by 10'.

So now we have to keep Joey Mac in net with a faceoff in our end with 40 seconds left. Nice brainfart Chris.

It is crap like that this young team needs to learn. It is little crap like that which has cost them games. In no way am I saying Campoli cost us the game. But it is simple stuff like that which makes differences. Look at the Pheonix game...how many simple turnovers in our end or neutral zone that weren't forced led to rushes against us and goals.

Hopefully, these kids will learn to cut down on those mistakes in the second half.

It tells you something when your goalie gets tagged for 6 goals and is still named the 3rd star of the game on the road.
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them

About what I expected. However, if Weight's shot goes in, which it should've, this is a whole different game. A game the Isles had no right being in but still a whole different game.

We didnt lose by 5, and as tough as the opponent was we didnt stop battling.

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

have a question regarding the campoli icing...if joey mac was on the bench already, and the Islanders had their extra man out..does the goalie come back out to go in net or do the Islanders be forced to keep the men on ice?

Answer :dontknow: I'm sure someone here knows.

My guess would be that you cant make a change, including bringing back the goaltender.

It seems that you can. Doesn't seem fair. I pulled this off of a Vanc. Canucks board.
