Good stuff but one thing I think I disagree with...

Why on earth would you take a 40 goal scorer and play him 50' from the net on the PP? Where did he get the idea that Kovy should play the point on the PP?

I4C,

from what I remember watching Thrasher games on centre ice, Kovalchuk was used on the point on powerplays.

:dontknow:

Was also used at point for Devils PP

Watch him go back to Russia, with love.

He he he, then NOBODY gets him. :dontknow:

Anyway, it was a nice thought. We have no shot.

Unless Up Chuck wakes up this morning and tells Garth to offer him $150 mil over 15 years, 50% of his RE holdings and geisha girls at his beck and call.

In other words, ain't happenin' and I am certainly not hitting refresh for another week.

Kovy, make up yer friggin mind boy.

Okay, now I'm confused as hell (what else is new).

So I read on NHL and Puck Daddy thta the Kings are BACK IN the hunt for Kovy.

So is some Russian team.

And the Devils.

We know the Devs are at 7 years and $60 mil (or $8.75 mil per).

The Ruskies are offering a 4 year deal for big rubles, but no amount has been stated. My guess is similar money to Devs, but shorter term and it IS in friggin' Russia, not the NHL.

LA is back in, but NOT at 10 years and $100 mil. Lombardi stated they're trying to "work some numbers" but they have cap considerations.

So let me ask the obvious question.

IF GARTH SWOOPS IN AND ACTUALLY OFFERS THE 10 YEARS AT 10 MIL, DO WE HAVE A SHOT?

So now we have another shot to get into to the Kovalchuk sweepstakes, yet Snow wont, we are too bush league to actually put something forward. Snow has all this cap space yet he cant get anyone here to play. Again a reflection of the GM, his sales pitch (or lack of one) and the owner. NOT THE DAMN BUILDING. Here is another shot for them to prove to the fans they are trying to actually win/attract players here. Real NHL GMs, like in NJ and Lombardi will figure out a way even with limited cap space. Meanwhile Garth is still trying to figure out how many years is left on Petrov's Russia contract..2,3, 4?

after all the excitement, only to find out the isles were never really players, to wait longer before ilya signs.......maybe the isles brain tryst should see just the mention of this signing got fans excited...logic would dictate actually signing would drive fans into a frenzy huge ticket sales and jersey sales but by not signing him and teasing the fans the isles will have once again done what they do best...drive away LOYAL FANS..
look at basketball the knicks overpaid to get Amare and gain much needed legitimacy and their fan base is going wild and such a signing might also net them lebron, so that contract brought back a franchise....ilya is no lebron but he is definitely worth more to this orginization than an amare

On the first day, I don't want to go over the top with it, or totally just over sell his nose greatness, but to make it plain and simple, yes we are talking a Gretzky type nose we're excited that we drafted him and we're still excited about him, we are the envy of the NHL. his nose may be able to stop the oil spill in the gulf" -- Isles' coach Scott Gordon on Nino Niederreiter and what is now being talked about as "The Nino Nose Situation"................... :torrey:

Maybe Wang is going to use the money he saved by firing Jankowski to sign Kovalchuk.

Wow. The saga continues.

Does he want to win a cup?
Is it all about the money?
Does he realize he will be booed in many NHL arenas?
Does he care?

Long gone are he days when players were sincerely HAPPY to be playing in the NHL.

;)
