4 roster spots are open now(Sim, Park, Jackman, Bergenheim) and 1 spot in the press box (Tambellini).

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

I'm kind of surprised Bergie wasn't qualified. Thought he was a good 3rd/4th liner and now we have another hole to fill? Not surprised to see Tamby not qualified. Too bad, he had flashes of brilliance, but just couldn't be consistent.

I always thought Tamby got a bum rap. They waited too long to bring him up. Probably should've been with the team when Nolan was coach.

He had 54 games under Nolan, plenty of time for evaluation, and 3 goals was his production in those games.

This franchise was not his first shot at the NHL, he failed to make the team in Los Angeles.
Played a handful of games and was traded to us.
2 seasons ago he couldn't sustain a regular spot on a LAST overall team.
No excuses. Good riddance to him and his 1 week stretch of good play last season.
Go to Calgary, to your hometown or overseas.

Good work Garth on this one even though it's a no brainer.

I bet Daddy doesn't want him for his last place team either.

Tambellini will fit on a team that is so good on their first 3 lines that they can afford to have him as a 4th liner and just use him for shootouts. That's probably a stretch. He will be one of those guys who is a superstar in the AHL for the rest of his career. He had every opportunity here. Even his hat trick game was lucky.

Agreed, he had plenty of chances and despite one or two short lived streaks he was as cold as the ice they skate on 99%of the time. I always liked Bergenheim for his hustle and effort and unlike Tambellini he had more to offer than just being a goal scorer. That being said, he did need to chip in at least a little bit of offense and he didn't. If he had half decent hands he would be a 30 goal scorer. I can't remember seeing anyone get as many scoring chances and botch just about all of them.

Too bad you couldn't combine Bergenheim's hustle and grit with Tambellini's hands. You might get one very good player then!

Seems odd to just let Bergie go. Does this mean we are becoming high bidders on the FA market?

Hey Cupz, 95 percent of this team is a dime a dozen, including the goalies.

I liked Bergenheim. i remember being so excited while watching him at the world Juniors all those years ago and then finding out he was Isles Property. but he was supposed to be so much more. i wouldnt have hurt to let him stay because i doubt we will get much of an upgrade through Free Agency. another guy that never fulfilled his full potential.

A rather doubtful rumor puts Bergie in Gothenburg, with his former team Frolunda. If he's not signed by any NHL team I'm pretty sure though he'll end up there since he really loved being there last time around.
I would absolutely love it as I use to watch Frolunda play and Bergie is a personal favourite. I'd rather see him being re-signed by Snow though, but that's not even an option anymore, right?
