The reason for not posting is because of all the negative posts the past few years.

DiPi:

Shame on you. If you have been reading as frequently as you say, you will know that there is no such thing as negative posts. There are those here who offer ONLY the realistic, correct and objective analytic breakdowns of the facts. On the other hand, you then have the godless, fascist, puppy-killing, kool-aid drinkers who believe in the Great Pumpkin (not as a Deity, as they are Godless, but as a universal force of evil intended to lure them into thinking this team can land free agents by dressing up as cartoon characters and waiting in pumpkin patches). This sad and pathetic group (probably closet Ranger fans) are blind men (and women) being led by other blind people with fancy titles like GM, President and Owner. Now take YOUR NEGATIVITY and go away until we win the Cup.

Just kidding, just kidding. Relax everyone. I wanted Uruguay to go through to the finals so I'm a bit snarky right now.

Group hug....even if you are a fascist (whoops, that might be me)!

I'm so thirsty after all of this. More Kool-aid please.  Preferably grape.

I'll take Grape Ne-hi, Radar. :D

The whole thing is a bit ridiculous. If this offends anyone that wasn't the intent, but it seems to me that many people read into the reports WHAT THEY WANTED TO. And now that things didn't turn out how they wanted it to, well, people are looking for someone to blame.

Blame yourself. Sorry but all the 100mill/10 yr rubbish came from Dredger. Then everyone who reported that quoted Dredger's blog in their report like nhl.com and the latimes and nypost. (Did anyone else notice that they reported it in their stories almost verbatim?) Then we get the "source close to the situation that can't be named"...ok, right. Then we hear from the agent (whom Galdoff said btw that he didn't go public on anything even though he's been commenting through twitter) but we heard from Garth NOTHING about an offer, but just a conversation.

Well, then the internet gets abuzz and fans get moist but few take the time to consider the sources and actually read what was printed, just what they wWANTED to be printed.

Hey, I get the anger. I wanted him here and I was willing to see the Isles go 9 mill for 8 years. But I also knew that the chances of us winning out over the Kings and Devs was 20% at best and nothing put out in the media made me thing at any time we were frontrunners on either.

What did our management say that made any of us think otherwise? If the answer was nothing, then ask yourself if you were putting into the reports what you HOPED would happen rather than what was actually being said.

jmho

Hey all. Just wanted to say I absolutely agree with this. I Haven't posted in a while but I read religiously. The reason for not posting is because of all the negative posts the past few years. I know people are entitled to there opinions but things have been getting beaten to death. I feel your pain and it kills me not having the Isles in the playoffs every year. We also need to remember that Wang lost money every year since buying the team. (Not happy with being at the bottom my self) but the point is that the team would have wound up somewhere else if Wang had not bought them. We really need to look at the good and the bad. Worst being if Wang had not bought the team we would have to start routing for the debs or even worse (should I dare say) the Rags.

JMHO

Sorry about my Rant. I just find it frustrating sifting threw all the same blah blah blah from the same people just to find new info. We all get the point and understand where you are coming from. But we don't need to read it in the same thread 15 times. This is the overall point I was trying to make. I have been an Isles fan since 1975. I have been threw the good times and bad. There is no one, more wanting than me, to see this team thrive. Just wanted to point out the good that also came with the bad in Wang buying the team. Just my 2 cents

I never get frustrated. My kool-aid has a secret ingredient that keeps the endorphins freely flowing. I walk through every day with a big sh!t-a$$ grin on my face. I leave the hate and frustration to everyone else.

WE WANT THE CUP!!! :P :D

Kool-aid>>>>>cyanide. Seriously. Much healthier, too. Except when your director of scouting is summarily dismissed.

Bartender, make that a double!

after all the excitement, only to find out the isles were never really players, to wait longer before ilya signs.......maybe the isles brain tryst should see just the mention of this signing got fans excited...logic would dictate actually signing would drive fans into a frenzy huge ticket sales and jersey sales but by not signing him and teasing the fans the isles will have once again done what they do best...drive away LOYAL FANS..
look at basketball the knicks overpaid to get Amare and gain much needed legitimacy and their fan base is going wild and such a signing might also net them lebron, so that contract brought back a franchise....ilya is no lebron but he is definitely worth more to this orginization than an amare

Problem is the Isles never started the rumor. I would have loved for him to play for the Isles but to blame them for a rumor started by the Media makes no sense.

No worries, I was just wondering, after reading your screenname and that you rarely post and stopped a few years ago....was it the hip or knees that stopped you? :o
"clearly it's Rick DiPietro's stupidity that's put the islanders in this situation getting into an altercation when a game was over..." Keith Jones on VS

"But the Coliseum became a repository for all the team's troubles, a convenient scapegoat. There were suggestions that no major free agent ever would set foot in such a decrepit place. We have two words for anyone making that argument: Fenway Park. History says free agents would play in an old boxcar if they got enough money and had a chance to win." - Mark Herrmann

I don't like how Botta and Strang are completely silent knowing full well the fan reaction to these 2 Isles job related bombshells and their implications.

I hope Botta doesn't come back and try to spin some good feel good story while
lambasting the fanbase for overreacting. There is no logical conclusion to derive form all this based on what we know/knew about Jankowski/Trottier importance to this org as said to us by this org.

Unreal.
