Really frustrating to NOT have ANY semblance of an explanation over what's transpired.
Still no word from Botta, Strang or the team.

This sucks.

This sucks.

Why the shock? It's life on media absent LI. NYI are so used to being ignored in a vacuum that they'll never say anything. That's the way they like it. They don't have to answer for the F ups this way. Strang is a puppet and Botta has lost a step anyway. Can't see anybody explaining this to satisfaction regardless.
John Tavares was 2 years old the last time NYI won a playoff series

I'd root for the Devs or Sabres.
But we are still the NY Islanders. For now.

I'll just root for a jettisoned frozen airline bathroom purge chock full of feces falls on Wang, paralyzing him and forever leaving a stink that cannot be removed even with bleach and call it a day. Go Red Wings! (do I come off too Irish?)
"clearly it's Rick DiPietro's stupidity that's put the islanders in this situation getting into an altercation when a game was over..." Keith Jones on VS

"But the Coliseum became a repository for all the team's troubles, a convenient scapegoat. There were suggestions that no major free agent ever would set foot in such a decrepit place. We have two words for anyone making that argument: Fenway Park. History says free agents would play in an old boxcar if they got enough money and had a chance to win." - Mark Herrmann

A true Irishman would never leave something like that up to the luck of a random airplane strike. You must be English! :P ;)
Authority without wisdom is like a heavy axe without an edge: fitter to bruise than polish.

Anger makes dull men witty, but it keeps them poor.

In the beginning, the Universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

You would think they would have a press conference at best, a release on their site at least. You know, a state of the Uniondale address or something.
Other funny thing is NHL free agency got zero coverage anywhere, not ESPN, not NY papers it was like it never happened. Yet the jackwagon NBA was covered till you wanted to puke.
And just for the record I don't give a rats ass where LeBron plays. What a joke.

could not agree with you more!!!

I don't care how "great" any athlete is. I don't care how much charity he does or how nice he is.
It takes a ton of ego to hold a press conference to make a spectacle out of an announcement EVEN if "proceeds" from advertising were going to charity. If you're that rich...don't negotiate a deal with a network (to get ratings) write a check.
He conspired with his buds about where they were going. Don't care about Basketball much.
Boring as all hell. But when even the nicest, most affable ones display there ego, it really sucks.

back to what's important. Islanders hockey. I also agree about what's going on with Botta. He "tweets" sending out a teaser and then nothing?

Come on now. Make something up, give an opinion. We're tired of speculating and have exhausted all possibilities.

i just dont understand how wang expects to make money from fans with his team if he is not willing to make them happy... A happy fan buys tickets to see his team and watches them on tv.. and listens to them in the car on the radio when driving!!!

If u keep this team at the salary cap minimum, who in their right mind buys season tickets! Its a formula for disaster.. the kids will never become who they should if they keep on losing with no leadership... sure weight is great as a captain but hes not gunna help anyone score 80 points a season... he can barely break 20 himself at his age...

signing Kovalchuck makes sense in every way.. give him whatever he wants.. we wont ever be close to the cap ceiling in the future so old mega millionaire wang can eat his contract at any time... at least put the islanders , the team he owns and keeps losing money on, back on the map with renewed and new season ticket holders.. higher ratings, and a better team with someone who scores 80 points or more every season and can only help the younger players gain confidence and be better in the long run....

Kovi is flying to LA to go face to face to try to get a deal done. DD had it on the NHL blog and its all over the blogosphere. It appears he wants to play there. Good, keep the bastid out west and out of our backyard. Hurts the Devs but they will also go after Frolov IMO so not great for us.
