Gang of Four P. Greenwood will join Spano and Sanjay in the slammer. Walsh will soon join them. If Cholly used e-mail he might be there too. Only the best owners for us NYI fans! Paul Greenwood, the former North Salem supervisor accused of draining his investment companies of tens of millions of dollars to fund a life surrounded by French antiques and collectibles and padded by several homes and a horse farm, pleaded guilty Wednesday morning in federal court in Manhattan to the securities fraud charges that have hung over him since February 2009. His lawyer, Frederick Hafetz, said he has signed a deal to cooperate with prosecutors. Greenwood, 63, faces up to 85 years in prison; he also agreed to forfeit more than $300 million. Greenwood's partner in WG Trading and other businesses, Stephen Walsh of Sands Point, Long Island, has stuck to his not-guilty plea. Both Walsh and Greenwood initially pleaded not guilty after being indicted in July 2009. Each was charged with conspiracy to commit securities fraud and wire fraud, securities fraud, commodities fraud, two counts of wire fraud, and money laundering. Greenwood's case initially garnered a lot of attention because he and Walsh were former owners of the New York Islanders hockey team and because of some of the things Greenwood lavished money on, including a large and expensive collection of rare Steiff stuffed animals and a 286-acre pony farm. - Journal News Greenwood/Walsh got rid of Torrey. Because Don Maloney worked in their financial firm. That's how he became GM. True story.

Is that right???? Maloney worked in their financial firm? Unreal. We've had some dismal owners during the last two decades......to say the least. |

They should go to jail for what they did to this team. I can also think of a whole bunch of politicians, that should be there with them also in the slammer.

While the repubs represent corruption and failure! Let's say we don't make this site political because I could rip Nassau and TOH repubs constantly. (D'Amato and your party of corrupt greed for starters.) OK? |

Here is my political statement: They all suck. Every single friggin' one of 'em. From every party, in every way. They steal money from hard working Americans like myself every day. They line their pockets, have their own agenda (which of course has nothing to do with the good of the people and is all about how many votes they can buy) and defend their actions behind the legal curtain. They can all go to hell and take a mighty toke on the meat whistle. Other than that, they're okay. As for our wonderful past owners, it's like we're the NHL version of the NFL Bengals, except its our management and not our players with the rap sheets (thankfully). |

I'd have more fun if the willy wonka GOPstoppers, including Kate, cared about NYI a little and didn't let them suck so much for so long. SMG kickbacks, wunnerful. |
