This means MORE über fans, some of which have the hockey IQ equivalent to their shoe size. God forbid they get REAL writers, no, they need to stroke the ego's of some fans so they can get MORE lap dogs to spread their propaganda. Such rubbish. Let the fans STILL be fans. Let them be an aside instead of giving them a false sense of relevance. I've EVEN read RUBBISH from one blogger suggesting that Chris Botta is "just a blogger". Agree with him or not, Chris Botta is NOT just a blogger. YES ISLANDERS is a cool site, very unique. Stuff like that stands out. leave them be. Go improve the team and stop looking for ways to "connect with fans" and save money. Start spending it and stop BSing the fanbase. We're sick of this crap.

Instead of the T shirt cannon, there will be a Wang Cannon. Watch our brave leader get shot into a net 100 feet away. This could be spectacular, Bergie will be firing the cannon. Or, possibly misfiring the cannon. |

All Islander fans should tweet because this franchise is for the birds. I posted that promo in the home opener thread. I said they wanted to see who was the most popular choice so they can't make a mistake. |

Hey, thanks for the shout out there about Yes Islanders. Many Islander bloggers have entered their blogs there so it is updated regularly with fresh blogger opinions and insights. Many of them are in the blog box as well. If you like Yes! Islanders, then you have been enjoying many über fan's opinions. If you are speaking directly to my personal blog there then thanks a bunch. I agree that Botta isn't a blogger. He has connections that us civilian bloggers could only dream of. He also gets paid to report on the NHL. It's better to limit things though. For example, I don't think Ryan Jankowski would appreciate phone calls from 100 bloggers looking to write pieces about the draft. On the other hand, I think the 7th woman has been using her access to cultivate ties to players and the NHL in general. It comes through in her work and makes for some good reads. She wouldn't likely have those connections without the blog box. On a personal note, my Islanders blog on Yes! Islanders (under the name Dragoneye) was never accepted into the blog box. They never even responded. I had a brief connection with Josh Bernstein until he was let go and then all of the progress I made toward finding out if I had properly applied and all that was washed out. I must have input my site 5 times and never had one peep of a response. I think I have several people in my corner as far as getting me in but noone with a handle on things. I used the email address from your post to see about applying again. I'll let you know what happens. |

I agree...also Botta and BD Gallofs blog is pretty good too. So are a few others. The thing I don't like about most other bloggers is most them tend to take themselves a little too seriously. |

Good grief, what mamaluke writes up these retarded lines. For anyone who has Facebook and is friends with New York Islanders, get a look at this....
"Yes, you read that right. We'll have GILLIES tees!"???????? Who knew they were a HOT item, with that number anyway.

Not that big. We graduated from Jackman and Thompson and their lessons at the dojo last summer to Gillies. Jackman is hopefully gone ASAP and we can sign someone tough who can play. If not, the Isles can further help golfers by giving away a Jackman ball cleaner. |

I don't think Jackman and Thompson would be considered "enforcers" - i.e. in the heavyweight sense. Also, at least those guys could take a regular shift and not be completely out of place. Gillies can barely skate and hold the stick at the same time. We needed to sign a guy who could play 4th line minutes at least. Doesn't look like that is going to happen. |

It's a shame about Jackman. Not that he was an "enforcer". Just, prior to his injury, knowing that he could drop the gloves if need be was better than anything else. He had a nice streak. Very likable player. |

I applied to be a new blog boxer and actually got a response this time so I will be at the draft party tomorrow blogging away. Anyone want to meet up and give me a quick video interview? I'll be adding it to my post so you can help me do my best to get into the B-box. I'd love to meet some people here in person. The only one I've met so far is Dee. If you don't want to be interviewed don't worry. I'd still like to meet up. Let me know. You can call me if you wanna hang out for a few, drink some beer and talk Isles.
