Fair enough. We'll simply agree to disagree on any number of matters. And please kow that I do apologize if I hurt your feelings with regards to the Chief and other comments. Not my intention. We all went through the Chief drama and you, sir, are no Chief. That said, you do acknowledge that you "like to stir the pot" and use "controversy" to get people to post. Is it possible that in so doing, you fail to recognize the impact that your words have on others and the overall tone of the board? You are a moderator and one of the few surviving members who signed up on day 1 (May 10, 2005). The general tone of this board is set by you and several others. In other words, you're influence here is quite strong. I was just commenting on what I saw as an environment that was, at times, unpleasant. If, in communicating that, I ended up doing the exact thing that I was critiquing, well, then I do owe you an apology. Perhaps we can soothe any hard feelings with a cup of Kool-aid?

Authority without wisdom is like a heavy axe without an edge: fitter to bruise than polish. Anger makes dull men witty, but it keeps them poor. In the beginning, the Universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move. | |

smitty, PLEASE no need to apologize for anything. I don't want to influence anyone. I vent, and I debate. But I cannot understand how some can handle the drama with the team but cannot understand the drama on the board. I don't drink sweetened anything. I drink water. But for you, I'll have kool-aid. Our future is bright!!! Wang is a #@%& sorry, only took a sip. Don't stay away because you disagree. I'll pay closer attention to what I post and choose my words more wisely, if possible. |

Assuming the sources are reliable, then it makes sense. I would love to get the story on Janks though. He was blindsided (as per Katie Strang), something must of really pissed off Snow or Wang |

Caution. "sources" are what caused many of you to waste a good portion of your 4th of July weekend waiting for a Kovy signing. Just saying. Even though I believe alot of this, it's a rumor from a "source".

Sometimes the source is better than you think. I don't know in this particular case but many times in a story I will cite a "source" when it's the actual person who doesn't want his name in the story. I'm not saying this is the case though. |

Shooter: I was just going to post if anyone here thought that maybe it was actually Trotts himself who was the source. There were a few things in the quotes that made me think it might be him. Interesting. |

Just another point here...and Steve's caution about the accuracy of what we read from "sources" is particularly true here...but if Trotts was going around and telling people in the know some of the things that are attributed to him here...hmmm, maybe not the wisest of moves? These sound like things more likely to be spoken after (an intelligent) person is let go. Or not. |

Classy guy, always kind words. But I question alot. My favorite Islander and my idol. I wish he didn't say that he'd work for free because you know Wang will take him up on that. |

I hope they can find a role for him, a real role, like Asst GM, or give him the coaching job of one of our minor league clubs (if that's not beneath him) as he seems to take pride in development of young players. |

Well, he did say something negative. I'd love to see him replace Gorton once things go south with injuries or defense this year. |

Maybe he didn't want to take anymore of Wang's money because he's filthy rich and needed a long vacation? They are looking for a spot within the org for him. We have a housewife that runs the Isles facebook page being paid but nothing for Bryan Trottier.
