Isn't this guy's agent the one that said Garth tried really hard to get his Top Tier clients?

Walsh.

Garth "tried" but his coupons had expired so he settled for these bastids.

This is where that damage control PR form yesterday fails. So the NVMC wasn't good enough for his top clients but for these guys they'll play there.

Again, not unhappy with the signings as much as how the Isles handled themselves from Day 1 of the season ending.

FLAWS: Doesn’t play with a lot of passion and rarely takes full advantage of his tremendous size. His skating and coordination are also weaknesses in his game.

Theres that tough passionate dman Snow promised us!

Exactly, throw the guy a bone for PR and continue working on other clients contracts.
win win.

;)

Of course it's all conjecture.

I actually wanted Jurcina here a couple of years ago. He's a defensive version of Kvasha.
Has some skill, some will but very inconsistent. Who knows. Maybe these 2 big defensemen work out. We sign an offensive upgrade up front and perhaps a good energy, faceoff guy like Moore for 4th line and we can all live with that.

we don't have a choice.

Tom, not really a selling point.

Kvasha had talent and potential to be a good scoring forward.
turned into a big tall enigma.

Jurcina has potential to be a solid defensive puck moving defenseman
has thus far been a big tall enigma

I agree this isn't a bad signing. And here's why:

1. We tried to land a couple of top 4 defensemen yesterday and couldn't do it.

2. Jurcina is a big, talented player. By signing a one year deal for a low cost, it is low-risk.

3. If he's a complete failure, we probably won't know it until mid-season. Travis Hamonic will be waiting in the wings anyway after 30 AHL games or so under his belt.

4. (The most important reason in my eyes): THIS PUSHES BRUNO OUT THE DOOR!!!!!!! With Streit, Hillen, Martinek, Eaton, Jurcina, and MacDonald all clearly better defensemen, and with Hamonic waiting to jump in at some point this year, I don't even see room for him on the NHL roster. Hopefully Garth surprises us and signs Corvo or Sutton and it becomes official.

This one seems odd but I don't mind it that much.
Only reason it seems odd to me is because Derek King and John Tonelli are in the top 10
for all-time Isles scoring.
Peca was a captain and a decent one until Darcy *ucker's hit.
