As I see it, the essential trio is Potvin, Trottier, and Bossy. Being that this is the 21st Century, the fourth face should be computer generated and change every year. Start with Gillies, Nystrom, and Smitty, Milbury should be banned for life. |

Those are our GM's. Not saying good or bad.....but the leaders.

"clearly it's Rick DiPietro's stupidity that's put the islanders in this situation getting into an altercation when a game was over..." Keith Jones on VS "But the Coliseum became a repository for all the team's troubles, a convenient scapegoat. There were suggestions that no major free agent ever would set foot in such a decrepit place. We have two words for anyone making that argument: Fenway Park. History says free agents would play in an old boxcar if they got enough money and had a chance to win." - Mark Herrmann 查理斯 · 請死你混蛋 | |

These four people are who you remember most when you think of these teams -- whether they be players, coaches or executives. Arbour would have to be in there, then. Trottier, Potvin, Bossy and Arbour. |

The Islanders' Mount Puckmore was released by BD this morning: Arbour,Bossy,Potvin,Torrey http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_dadd...?urn=nhl-263765 Personally, I'd put Trottier and Smith on instead of the coach and GM but I thought this whole thing should've been players only. |

trottier was a traitor. he don't deserve any mount puckmore. coaching a rag team, he's lucky we don't burn down his banner. what an insult that was..and frankly I am a bit shock that more islander fans would let him off the hook, rather so easily..

I don't remember seeing any of the cup winning players when they were active so I'm going by what I've heard in general. My list of players I have seen with the Islander crest would be much worse than my taste-making skills. As to replace #19 for you, #23 then. |

WHAT TRAITOR? I DIDNT SEE THIS TEAM OFFER HIM A JOB IT WOULD PROBABLY BE DIFFERENT IF THEY WON SOMETHING UNDER HIS WATCH BUT SINCE THEY DIDNT THINK OF IT AS A YEAR ON FOOD STAMPS |

Did the dog in your avitar type that post? If I'm not mistaken Trots won cups on LI, Pitt and as an assistant in Colorado where he ran a rather successful PP unit. Out of curiosity, when did the Islanders ever call him up and interview him for one of the MANY coaching vacancies we've had? We went with names like Rick Bones, Stirling, Henning, Nolan, Gordon, Lavy, Milbury, Milbury, Milbury but for some reason Trottier NEVER EVEN GOT AN INTERVIEW on Long Island. So how the heck is that being a traitor? He had basically been not involved with the Isles franchise since 1992. Lot of coaches we hired in that time and never called Trots. In fact, Trots agreed to coach a hockey team in the Rags despite the fact that he HATES Glen Sather. I dont' suppose you recall that Trottier refused to play for Team Canada in the 1984 Canada Cup because Slats was the coach. Instead, he used his ancestory as a Native American to play for the US in 1984. So what does it tell you that Trots first head coaching offer didn't come from us, but from the Rags...and we never even interviewed him. And you call him a traitor? Get a grip. |
I miss these and want more of them ![]()

Trottier was someone I idolized and when he took the Rags job I was ticked. After seeing them suck so bad while he got some experience, that bad feeling faded. He is the one Islander I always admired most. |
