The argument that we should've added another top 6 forward doesn't hold water. All we'd be doing is paying more than market value for an extra year before our core of young guys is ready to make a run. It would be a waste of money. (I know I know "ALL THIS TEAM DOES IS TRY AND SAVE MONEY, THIS IS BULLSHIT, I HATE MYSELF AND THE ISLANDERS AND WAHHHH")


Sorry, I think it would have been a good move. Doug Weight used to be the kind of player to show the kids(more like young men by now) the right way, but he is too long in the tooth. Putting too much pressure on players too early is not good for their development, period.
Bringing Yashin back to play on the second line would have been better than doing nothing. Unless Mr. September/October has a cap trade in mind, he did nothing to help the offense.
We have spent a lot of time waiting to make a run. This is just another example of our front office looking stupid and acting like they are the smartest guys in the room.
