Guys...Gordo wasn't even on the bench, he was in the skybox with Wanger and Garth.

Capuano was on the bench.

DeHaan didn't suck, but did hesitate, clearly rust. He's coming off a serious injury.

uh...the Boston announcers mentioned Gordon's name repeatedly when referring to the bench.

...strike that...Moose is right.

forward Casey Cizikas out for tonight's rookie game; day to day with a groin strain

Sucks because he played fine yesterday. Not bad on draws.
More stuff like this should be expected from both rookies and vets.

Too early to start the Injury scoreboard for the year? :dontknow:

Just noticed you took it down.
Finding the humor in the various injury reports last year is what helped keep us sane.
Never even came close to the man games lost form 2 seasons ago.

But this time of year, lotta groin strains, abdominal strains are to be expected.
Hope to see more of Nino tonight as well as Hamonic.

Little known fact - the groin strain is a major occupational hazard for farmers.

(bad joke re Boston knucklehead commentator - though I did think that one line was pretty funny)

After watching goaltender Mikko Koskinen get the start in last night's rookie game, Kevin Poulin is anxious to make his debut tonight against the Bruins prospects.

Don't remind me....Chris King replaced by Butch and Sundense.

Gorton angry the kids aren't buying into his system.

In a few weeks, Rick will be keeping the bench from hitting the scoreboard.

Islanders hockey. Hope Nino and others impress, but no matter what, the team is still owned by a schmuck, run by a backup goalie and coached by a runt. Thank God we had Tavares and Moulson out there. It's all that keeps this team from looking like the '99 team.

BTW, did DeHaan really suck?

you're just a breath of fresh air, as usual

But like everyone else. I'm outraged that our rookie prospects, with a bunch of other guys that may not even make B-port, didn't execute well after a few practices in a scrimmage game. I mean, this doesn't bode well for the pre-season record.

Hey, why be disappointed? Just looking from reality with some optimism on some players and some apprehension that last night showed some defensive gaffes all too typical (from the limited amount I saw on the Bruins feed recap).

How many nice breakaways? We look like we're getting frustrated and taking bad penalties while the B's kids were just hitting hard and getting back into the play? And already a groin strain?

Yes, Gordon is a schmuck. I loved the hustle of some guys, though, and Hamonic has the right number....played big and hard and smart like Gary Nylund. Hope he morphs into Scott Stevens. Hoe nice it would be to have a defensive system to have Hamonic own the defensive zone and create breakouts with DeHaan, punishing players rather than trying to make the breakouts as per overspeed. Guess I got spoiled by Arbour hockey and think Gorton is no different than Terry Simpson's brand.
"clearly it's Rick DiPietro's stupidity that's put the islanders in this situation getting into an altercation when a game was over..." Keith Jones on VS

"But the Coliseum became a repository for all the team's troubles, a convenient scapegoat. There were suggestions that no major free agent ever would set foot in such a decrepit place. We have two words for anyone making that argument: Fenway Park. History says free agents would play in an old boxcar if they got enough money and had a chance to win." - Mark Herrmann

I'm watching. They just announced the attendance, 14,180 fans.

5 dollar tix...they make money on concessions for a rookie exhibition game.

Poulin does look good. I liked seeing Hamonic stand toe to toe despite getting his rear kicked. Tough kid. Too bad he had to leave game because of that stupid 2 fight rule. I was hoping to see Kabanov show a little more and be a standout. So far, Ullstrom looks pretty damn good.

Nino just got slew footed, how do they not call that?
terrible.
He's ok but could have gotten hurt the way he fell into the boards.

Poulin played well. I thought deHaan played with poise and confidence, especially at the point during the PP, made a few good plays at the line, but you could see is more seasoned than the rest of that roster last night as he tried to switch at the blueline on the PP with the puck with Nino to get into a shooting position, but Nino didn't read it and forced deHaan back. Rakhshani also played well on the forecheck.

I hooked up my laptop with my HDMI cable and watched it on my living room plasma TV, which was pretty cool. Had to watch the Boston website feed as the ITV feed was a bit choppy.

I go the PS3 route. Watched the "Worlds" that way.

I haven't watched any of these yet, so I ask, "Do we REALLY have any TRUE talent coming up"?
