What has gotten old?
The bitching or bitching about the bitching?

  :dontknow:

I talk Isles hockey, praise the team when they deserve it but voice my opinion when they don't.

In a few weeks, we may all be bitching or maybe not.

Come on people, post away your thoughts on the Isles. No more lurking and PMing.

Post away.

Yea it's been really slow around here.

Slow? It's been slow since 1993 my friend. Okay, waiting for the one particular poster to shine sunshine on the wonderful parade Wang has presented.

How about the sunshine that has kept the Islanders on Long Island.

I have cringed at alot of the madness, but give the man credit. Hes the only reason we have stuff to disagree with about the NYI.

I for one am grateful for that, Lighthouse aside.

I am not trying to piss anyone off. We are all on the same side here.

This friggin' organization need to concentrate on building a winning hockey team and nothing else. When will they figure out that winning is the only kind of exposure a team needs and the rest will take care of itself. Why is this simple concept so hard for them to understand???

I've thanked Wang more than enough with STH money for seven years. The thanking part of my life is over. It's now time to put a winning team out there.

The team looks like its getting better to me the only way we can with the current arena. Those bad finishes have gotten us top level prospects. Not just polished turds that Milbury got for us with an occasional gem. He tried before the rebuild with Nolan getting freeagents. It didnt work.

Some of you act like hes been sleeping through the last bunch of years he has been hemeraging tremendous amounts of cash. I think he wants what we want and he is learning, past foolishness aside.

Legally he couldn't move, anyway. He got us new ice, though. And our next director of scouting is a pudgy little 11 year old who is at every draft. Great man. And he listened and responded when fans like Steve and Webby and others pleaded for him to bring back Andy Hilbert.

A great man. We're even above the cap again.Maybe next year we might be above 30th in salary. All part of his benevolence. A truly, truly great man. Anyone have a cupcake? Mine's in the shop.
"clearly it's Rick DiPietro's stupidity that's put the islanders in this situation getting into an altercation when a game was over..." Keith Jones on VS

"But the Coliseum became a repository for all the team's troubles, a convenient scapegoat. There were suggestions that no major free agent ever would set foot in such a decrepit place. We have two words for anyone making that argument: Fenway Park. History says free agents would play in an old boxcar if they got enough money and had a chance to win." - Mark Herrmann

He wants land. Always has. There won't be any cash spent to make it a winning franchise until he gets his land. I hope he does get it. Then sells the team to a person who has a clue. Then everyone wins. Wang. The fans. And Long Island.

OTH, Nick and I never lobbied for Hilbert to be brought back.
Not on a 2 way contract, not on a 1 way, not at all.

Under the team of underachievers we had a few years ago, Hilbert's work ethic was and always will be something I admire.

This is a rebuild, we have plenty of kids and mid range 3rd/4th line capable guys.
We have some blue chips growing each year and where many of differ in opinion is that
these kids needed a top 6 veteran who can produce and help lead.

That said, I know you post was just sarcasm, no biggie. Just wanted to point that out in case someone took things out of context. No cupcakes for any of us. No icing either.

You don't owe me any explanation. Hilbert was and will always be a favorite of my family, but I agree there was no need to re-sign him when we have younger players trying to make their marks. I like that he'll be in bridgeport and hope that's where he'll start the season, maybe have a good year, and increase in value, plus during the course of the year, when say a vet forward (like Hunter or Weight) goes down he'll be ok in a fill in role. I'd like to see a kid brought up to replace a younger player should they have an injury, and a vet brought up if a vet is injured to keep the experience levels the same as a team.

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

Yeah, the only good news to that end is what Botta had on Matt Martin. Would be nice if he made the team after how well he played last year in limited time. Seems like a great character guy with talent, grit and a willingness to stand up for his jersey.

And what about Jesse Joenssu? I thought he could win a 3rd line spot. Only so much icetime
and spots to battle for and this is why I always harp on the same thing...
Let everyone EARN a spot in camp.

Matt Moulson was a great example. Played his way onto the team and a role that no one else could take away from him.

I have no idea why anyone would complain about the "hard knocks" idea. But to each their own. But we know if they do such a thing, all Isles fans will watch, whether they bitch about it or not.
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them
