gee..another retread..we should have made moves back in f**kin' July...not two weeks before the damned season starts..back up the truck...

ahh I think this move was made because some guy by the name of Mark Streit hurt his shoulder last week, not back in July. I could be wrong? :dontknow:

don't know who you are man..but what did the Islanders do to make the team better in the summer so that they wouldn't have to rely on one man to Quarterback our powerplay and take 25+ minutes of ice time a night?? What did they do?? The gloves come off with this club..don't tell me that "were rebuilding, youth must prevail."

Dude Garth hit the nail on the head when he said "would you like to stay in a 5 Star resort or a motor lodge" The Coliseum is a wreck you can put a fresh coat of paint on the walls, but at the end of the day it is still an outdated building that is not enticing to free agents. Sure he can throw all the cap money around he wants but with a losing team and a bad building no one will come. We will have to wait till they move to Queens to lure quality free agents.

Yes.

I like this dude, post more often. :D

Yeah, it's as bad as Joe Louis Arena. At least it's not in a hellhole like Detroit. :yea:

PS there is still time to pick up a good player from a salary cap strapped team. ;) [/QUOTE]
The real problem is the Three Stooges running the show, not the Old Barn. What kind of stability do guys see in our management which would make them want to play here? I am not going to go through the list of foul-ups, just go watch the video of the recent press conference they held.
Our owner is eccentric(what a nice word that is for nuts), our GM can brown nose with the best of them(MM is the model here-had to fire himself), and our coach is wondering what he got himself into. Gordon might have to bite his tongue clear through before his stay here is over.

PS I hope so, too. But I will not be holding my breath. A top six forward is on my Christmas List!

:WORSHIP: He isn't moving to Queens to be part of the mess that's already there. He bought the Islanders to get some land in Nassau. He's not going to play second fiddle to anyone.

Please Cholly end this nightmare and sell so they can move to Queens and become relevant again.

No offense to Mets fans, Queens residents or anyone else who will disagree with this.

IMO and has always been that the Queens talks were just banter and a favor used as leverage.

Back on Topic, I look forward to seeing Mottau and Nielsen answer the question that ONLY fans and media folks obsess about - that forearm hit that knocked Nielsen backwards and caused his skate to twist.

Trent Hunter, him and Nielsen will probably become good friends as that stuff is in the past.
Hunter was the Islander who immediately went after Mottau following that hit.
The way it should be. The way this team needs MORE of...that's leadership.

See, there I am, a fan making more of one series of events. There's many fans who still despise Mottau for that. It happened in a split second. Bad decision, sure he regrets it.

He'll now be coming across and throwing hits for us.

Which he's gonna do....because Nassau can't support the team or something....lemme read Botta's archives and find out why he would again.

Mottau also said Frans Nielsen was first player he saw upon arriving and apologized immediately for hit in 2008-9; said no hard feelings

I'm a met fan and the last thing this ISles team needs is that dysfunction group taking ownership from Wanger. Absolute bunk getting the mets into the conversation. They wont go out and improve their own team due to their own money issues, but they will buy another sports franchise and then get the financing to build another arena? They wont even buy out Ollie perez or castillo's contracts, much less go after a pitching ace in Cliff Lee.

Good call on the Mottau hit from 2 years ago. I forgot it was him. And you have to love hockey players. First person talked Mottau approached was Nielson. Shows class and respect for the game IMO.

Because Minaya won't be GM of NYI. That's why.

But if you'd rather have Cholly's lowest NHL payroll and ignoring PR instead of Wilpon's 3rd to 5th highest payroll in baseball and probably better in hockey and plenty of media/PR that's up to you.
