They'll save money letting him share a Hospital Room with Martinek when he gets his first real hit too. |

Head injuries are the flavor of the day in sports and rightfully so. It does not have to be a vicious hit as much as the snap of the head. They will be cautious and this guy is our most important player so... But let's not call him brittle on just one unfortunate play. I just watched it again and he got an elbiw to the back of the head. Get back soon JT. And lay off the brittle comments- the guy didn't miss a minute last year and got whacked around pretty good, IMO. |

Yeah I managed to catch that play in between flipping channels to 90 college football games here last night (had to please the crowd) and my first reaction was I thought he was taking a dive. Even the replay is unassuming. Just sucks. He's too young to start having concussions rack up on him. We need mileage out of that youngster! |

Yeah i really don't believe its a case of him being brittle. its the teams luck that is brittle. this really had been a horror story of a season! one game in and we have our thee best players injured, although i don't think Mr. T will be out for long |

if he got an elbow then were was the penalty? then where is the suspenion? I would think the league would take note and review the hit to see if its suspension worthy considering their lengthy talk in the offseason conserning head injuries. But what do I know...this is afterall, the islanders and colie is still in charge..so nothing is done..blah blah blah blah. http://nhl.fanhouse.com/2010/10/09/islande...ers-concussion/ care to watch it again...look to me like shoulder to shoulder...no elbow to head..now if it was elbow to head, then it should be a suspension.. |

While some believe this was accidental, no response again by the team, a continuing theme under the head coach. You can bet any team with a set of balls would have made sure there would have been no accident the next tiime around. |

UPDATE: Coach Scott Gordon said Tavares seemed pretty good after the game last night, besides having a stiff neck. Tavares, who is expected to undergo further evaluation Monday, is supposed to ride the stationary bike under head trainer Garrett Timms' supervision today. http://www.newsday.com/sports/hockey/islan...-files-1.812028 |

gee wiz, I thought the best thing for a "mild concussion" was rest..not to jump on a bike and peddle away...what I know..islanders know best...hmm, from a concussion to a neck sprain..yep, can't trust 'em. regardless, hope the kid is okay..but, it was a bump..smirk smirk.. and yep yep...with guys like konaka, gillies, sim on the team..gordo tells them to take a seat..we don't protect our own here..we are known as a laughingstock of the league for a reason..we aim to live by it. mmm hmmm, its going to be a loooooooooooooonnng season...oh, well atleast I only caved in for a partial plan..so the misery won't hurt too much.. |

I just watched again and there was no elbow to the head and the hit wasn't very hard. I am sorry for those who disagree but that was just a little bump from behind. |

I wouldn't give a sh!t if Tavares tried to hit him...he's our star...Burish's a dirtbag...you go after him. Why are we paying Konopka and Gillies to be on this team if they don't stick up our top player? This team is a joke. |

It looked like a dirtbag play where Burish was pretending to follow his man while intentionally aggravating Tavares. Only he did worse. Avery makes plays like that in his sleep. Sim might too. |
