http://www.nhl.com/ice/boxscore.htm?id=2009020185 I never remember attendance being that low on Halloween night. It's usually around 11,000. |

I was a little surprised about the attendance last night, I know the Yanks were on but still thought it would be better for a Saturday crowd. The biggest problem is the season ticket base is around 7k or under so most nights that place is going to be empty. Seems like division games and maybe some of the big opponents will draw more but not much. I envision Monday being a ghost town. |

HOW MANY TIMES DOES HALLOWEEN ACTUALLY FALL ON A SATURDAY GAME NIGHT? THAT TOOK OUT ALOT OF THE KIDDY CORPS AND WELL ALOT OF SERIES PARTIES WIPED OUT THE REST AND I DONT KNOW IF LAST NIGHT WAS A FAMILY FUN PACK GAME BUT THIS DEAL REALLY WENT TO HELL THIS SEASON IT USED TO BE 4 TIX 4DOGS/ 4 SODAS/ 4 TSHIRTS AND A GIFT CARD FOR FRIENDLYS NOW ITS Available for select games throughout the season, the package includes 4 tickets, a NYI practice jersey and a $25 merchandise voucher. And the best part is that you can save up to 60% off of the total value! BIG DEAL FOR A FAMILY ITS NO DEAL REALLY CAUSE THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO BUY THE DOGS/SODAS which would be how much Nick? |

The facts are the Islanders have been bad for so long that it will take some time (winning) before most fans believe management is actually interested in putting a quality team out there as opposed to buying a piece of land. |

dogs and soda for 4 = $40 (but in fairness you got the smaller dogs with the promo). And 4 Tee shirts made the value even more, especially when you're kid isnt disappointed he didn't catch a shirt shot from a canon, when he's already wearing one. It used to be a great value, we took advantage of it quite a bit. |

The only thing that boosts attendance is winning. 8000+ on a saturday night is embarassing.......world series, Halloween or no world series or Halloween. |

At least we're not as bad as Phoenix. They are getting like 6,000 a night. That team is going to force the NHL to go into another lockout. |

13K on opening night. That's with 40% discounts, Loudville discounts and all the brokers buying tix to see the concerts. 13K. I don't ever remember a home opener so poorly attended. Is this the lowest attended home opener in franchise history? (Maybe a mod can change the title thread to get rid of 2009 as I didn't want to start a new thread on attendance?) |

I could be wrong but I think the 98 home opener was more poorly attended. That was the one with Gluckstern and Milstein saying the building was unsafe because the scoreboard might fall to the ground. We all remember that fiasco. |
