From the Isles Facebook page:

Official New York Islanders The Isles will have a new goal song today. The players, led by Zenon Konopka, requested the change.

Thank you JESUS! That goal song thing is what happens when you poll 'Mania for answers to your problems. Thankfully the players were as nauseated as I was. Hey hey hey hey!
"clearly it's Rick DiPietro's stupidity that's put the islanders in this situation getting into an altercation when a game was over..." Keith Jones on VS

"But the Coliseum became a repository for all the team's troubles, a convenient scapegoat. There were suggestions that no major free agent ever would set foot in such a decrepit place. We have two words for anyone making that argument: Fenway Park. History says free agents would play in an old boxcar if they got enough money and had a chance to win." - Mark Herrmann

Plants love the Islander brass as their ideas are chock full of nutrients.

i'll probably be the minority but i like the new goal song. kind of unique when compared to most goal songs out there. hell, if it brings them luck, i don't mind it at all.

still, it would be nice if they just used the freakin organ for goal songs.

Wow this song is pretty terrible. There's zero energy in it. Can we PLEAAAASE just go back to RnR Pt 2?

I agree that has probably been the best one thus far...but honestly...if they play the way they did last game and 3rd period of opener against Dallas, I don't care if they use the theme from Mr. Rogers Neighborhood as a goal song, at least we'll be watching entertaining hockey.

I could care less about what goal song they play. What I do wish and have wished for for many years is for them to get rid of that bush league, Whew, Whew, Whew that they play after the goal song. It is the silliest thing and serves no purpose other than to make us look unprofessional and cheap and fire up the opposition. It is an embarrassment IMO!

"YOU SUCK"

I guess they picked that up from visiting the Barn !!!!

Visit any high school football or lacrosse game, and every college lacrosse game and you'll hear the wooo. It's not exclusive to the Coliseum, at all.

His father Zenon Sr. according to Botta

I really don't like the song (a 25 year old song from a Austrian pop band?) but as long it's played all the time at the NVMC, who cares?

zenon explains all...so this should put a rest to it all...ME, if the players like the song, is a good thing...especially if they signed a petition to get it played and changed...beginnings of something special..yep, I like this guy zenon..

extend him garth...

If the this is what the team wants, it's fine as long as they win. If they are 15 points out of a playoff spot in January then give the fans what they want.
