I can just see Frans Nielsen getting 2 more empty net goals in the next 4 games along with another. Then someone will suggest he may score 30+!!! We have alot of hockey to go, there'll be peaks and valley's and hopefully minimal injuries. Still no word on any Wisnewski suspension. |

perhaps re: frans, but it wont be from me, although i didnt post it i did say to my brother before the season that comeau is gonna be huge this year, I have a bet with my bro that if comeau plays 80 games he scores 40 goals. I am much more reserved on Wisy at this point, one hard slapper hits the twine and he is a god. he has had a nice start though. but i gotta see much much more. but he is fiesty he obviously can lay somebody out as that was as good a hit as we ever see here and he is definitiely offensively capable. |

I don't think Comeau ever scored 25 even in juniors but you honestly think he can net 40? I see him at best - as a good 2nd line winger on a stanley cup winning team if he keeps improving. With us, he gets elevated to more minutes and teams can and will take us lightly....wait till they scout our team and the we work our way into December and see where the team is standings wise and individuals scoring wise. We're the Islanders and they have to play over their heads. The kid is streaky. His noted bad habits include hogging the puck, giveaways and lazy skating. Is this the year he breaks out? I sure hope so as he's been one of the better players in these 2 games. But IMO, I don't see him getting more than 20-25 this year and I'm being generous.

I must say I'm impressed with all D-men so far. I know we conceded 8 goals already but they are showing some real character. Everybody is sacrificing themselves blocking shots and MacDonald is top 10 in league ranks on BkS. Wisniewski is tied 9th in NHL in hits and I think he's our best pick up during the summer. But I'm also impressed with the play of both Eaton and Mottau, far beyond my expectaions, Eaton with a strong +3 so far. If they keep up the good numbers we will drop in goals against too very soon because it's all about CONFIDENCE! |

perhaps you are right and he does have his drawbacks which i dont think will go away, but given okposo out he keeps moving up in the order. He will get lots and lots of power play minutes. If he starts to dog it, well then i guess being a healthy scratch saves me from my bet I suppose it is wishful thinking but in the last two years he has had two very very solid streaks playing up here. One to end last season and one in the middle of the prior year. Perhaps with some maturity and LOTS of minutes he can be hot more often then disappearing. I am sure nobody agrees with Comeau on top, and i honestly thought this before his nice start. Before the year i was thinking: 40 comeau 29 tavares (who knows with concussion issue) 22 moulson 19 bailey 17 shrempf (without missing too much time) 16 hunter 11 nielsen 7 sim 0 weight (he has blown by that already) no real opinion on the new guys. irealize that everybody on this list was increasing goals for the most part but they are all very young so I am hoping for positive steps |

Easy there. Comeau ALWAYS goes crazy against NYR. He has 9 of his 35 goals against them. Let's see how he does against the other 28 teams. He's prone to slumps and while I like him, let's see him be consistent for a change. |

Wiz gets 2 game suspension. Campbell is still pissed that he was embarrassed by Bossy in 1982. |

actually 2 games seems fair to me..I was mistaken earlier thinking he wasn't a repeat offender..has a couple prior...and it was, I guess, in poor taste what he did..so losing Wiz for two games, hmm, does that mean bruno goes in and we suck again....ha, na, have to be hillen...it would be pretty sick if bruno was ahead of hillen on depth chart.. |

not sure about the 2 games being fair....Niklas Hjalmarsson got 2 games for the hit from behind/hit to the head of pominville.... NHL was supposed to be making a big statement about hits to the head this year... in my opinion it should have been a 1 game for Wiz same as Boynton from chicago telling a guy he is going to kill him and give him the throat sign and if they are trying to make a statement about hits to the head then more then 2 games is required Once again I feel we get the short end of the straw |

Bring back...PRIDE OF THE ISLAND
|
hey we are lucky...it could've just been 12 games...and i'm sure campbell wanted to give more, but he doesn't want it to be too obvious he is anti islander. and if the islanders don't like it, they could always appeal..not saying it would get reduced, but, atleast it would show fans and league, that they don't care for the outrageous suspension calls against them.. they could always show video clips of the intent to injure nino of mc, getting 1 game..and ask how the severity of what wiz did, is worse...show the video clip of burish bumping into a player not expecting a hit, and that player suffering a concussion...and said player gets squat called against.. but the isles won't do that, because the islanders don't have the balls to stand up for themselves..yep, how can we expect players on the ice to stand up for each other...if the coach and the gm and owner don't give a rats ass... so yeah...I think the 2 games is fair....considering... |

So we are without our top 2 offense and defenseman vs Pitt and the Caps. No problem. Can I hear top 3 percolating? |

Katie Strang said earlier that DP will likely get the start and that they need to talk again to both DP and Rolo. DP has looked rusty but the boys played well the last 4 periods in a row so why not if he feels well? I don't want to jinx anything. |

Because this is DP we are talking about. He wants to play 82 games this year, like any other. Another poor organizational decision, what else is new? Yeah, he looks rusty enough. My $ is on Gordon not being in charge of the rotation. |

You serious Steve? Didn't they already have a talk with them? "DP has to start again. We can't rest him until he has a great game, or he may never play again." Maybe it's something less complicated. Wangy Likee. |

I think it's just really stupid. So if you look cross eyed at anyone, you might be offending cross eyed people? Whatever happened to simple fines, done, and move on? This one is D.U.M.B.

DP looked the best I've seen him (movement wise). Many are focusing on the goals against. This is unimportant for now in his progress. How he moves side to side, tested with a 40 shot plus game is the more significant issue. I know some here think the Isles are winning the Cup after two games but this is a season to make progress for several members of the team. If the goalie and the youngsters make progress, then next year will be interesting. |
