Own the faceoff circle and control the game.

The Isles are 3rd in the league in FO% with 55.6%. The addition of Konopka has been a terrific one for the Isles, not only in his willingness to standup for his teammates, but his faceoff ability. Last night he won 75% of his defensive zone face offs and is 3rd in the league with a 65.4% success rate.

This has been missing from the Isles for some time and it's nice to know we can win the all important faceoff late in the game when needed.

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

Right On Time.
Agreed. It was one reason why I missed Mike Sillinger for so long!

Konopka has been a pleasant surprise for the reasons you state. Great on the draw and toughness. A very nice addition to the squad, for sure.

And eventually they will see that Gilles is expendable and should be sent down, opening the door for Martin.
