Less than 48 hours ago TP said it was nothing serious, nothing to worry about and he would hurry back as soon as possible. We've been down this road before. Retire so you can bend down and pick up your grandkids in 25 years and we can move forward with our goaltending position.

Come on, not for one second did you believe it was just a tweak and poulin was called up for 'precautionary' reasons. We know these ny islanders and how they operate. Day-to-day=week to week=month to month. Need I remind you that Weight was day-to-day for weeks before being put on IR. Mistruths and lies are what our management is all about. Either about players injuries, revenue streams, roster moves or lack of signings,....you name it they will misinform you about it. |

In a professionally run organization, he would have been evaluated the next day after the tweak. It certainly is not up to the player to diagnose himself. Is it, Garth, Mr. Wang? Or, is it that we do not have an offical doctor? |

While previously undisclosed, it was just reported that while Rick was on extended rehab in the past year, he completed medical school and is now a qualified orthopaedic surgeon. Pros: - saves the team money - instant diagnosis Cons: - not entirely objective |

Put him on IR and petition the league to schedule doctors to determine if he is phsically able to play. Then get out of the contract when they say he isn't. Give him a "consulting" job like you did with Gordon to keep him happy. This guy is and has been toast for a long time. The experiment is over, please flush your test tubes in the nearest toilet. Thanks. |

They didn't put Streit or KO on the LTIR, why would they put Rick on it? Can't have that much cap come off. |

At this point its not about cap space. Its about doing whatever the proper protocol is (and I don't know exactly what that would be) to get the league involved. If the league does get involved, along with the players union, perhaps a resolution can be reached on his contract due to his being "physically unable to perform". If it just continues as is, Rick will simply keep cashing checks and we will keep supplying them. There has to be some sort of clause in the NHLPA agreement that covers this kind of issue. Like under "career ending injuries and the compensation due both parties..."???? Lets face the facts, this guy simply is unable to perform and I doubt that means "tough luck" to this organization. They should be ressearching all means necessary to put an end to this fiasco. |

A far out there idea: a lawsuit brought on by ticket holders against the Islanders for misrepresentation of goods sold/fraud. A reasonable expectation of services expected from this team has been, obviously, hindered consciously and without regard to the paying customer who has been denied a competitive product. The stipulations set forth by the NHL are well known: competitive rosters set forth by a minimum cap level which allows for a minimum amount of talent on the ice being presented to the buyer. The Wanger has deliberately shortcut this by spending well under day in and day out, dressing Rick despite his well known inability to perform. Not once this year have the Islanders dressed a roster which fulfills the cap minimum. Any lawyers? Does the suit have any legs? Wang/Snow refuse to use the LTIR which is legal.....but it still shortcuts fans who had every expectation when purchasing tickets to be allowed to see a competitive team. |

I SAW A COMMERCIAL FOR SOME LAW FIRM WHERE THIS GUY IS COMPLAINING THAT HE HAS INVESTED TIME AND MONEY OVER THE YEARS AND HIS TEAM ALWAYS SHOWS NO PROMISE SO HE WANTS TO BE COMPENSATED (NO HE WASNT WEARING AN ISLANDERS JERSEY) BUT IT GOES ON TO BASICALLY SAY YOU NEED A REAL CASE BEFORE YOU CALL THEM WAS PRETTY FUNNY I'M SURE ITS SOMEWHERE IN THE YOUTUBE UNIVERSE |

Yeah, you can't win for sucking but you could win for deliberate circumvention of the cap possibly. Or not. |
