So long as they don't try to "outsmart" the rest of the league. PLEASE just take the pick and bring home the best player avail. |

In Garth I Trust
|
Yes. Toronto will not have a 1st rounder next year either. Boston gets it. As for the Islanders, we will definitely get a quality D man out of this draft at number 5. I would look to take in the following order... Cam Fowler, D -- Erik Gudbranson, D Brandon Gormley, D Honestly, I'd be pleased with any of those players, but that doesn't mean we have to go defense. I think we will because Hall and Sequin will be off the board by the time the 5th pick comes up. Plus, our biggest need is DEFENSE. Think about this pipedream for the end of training camp next season... Paul Martin - Calvin deHaan Mark Streit - Travis Hamonic Andy MacDonald- Cam Fowler (or oher pick above) 7th dman- Hillen 8th dman- FM4 9th dman- Bruno Gervais Will it happen? Of course not. We won't go out and get Martin from NJ. Probably won't even make an offer. But with that defense, that young and with promise, I'd tune in and watch this team next season. We'd have a REAL solid D within 2 years and our goalies wouldn't face 5 billion shots a night. Plus, we'd have everyone but Streit and Martin guaranteed in an Isles jersey for at least the next 5 seasons before any of the kids could hit UFA status and depth to withstand an injury with Hillen as the 7th dman. |
I miss these and want more of them ![]()

Totally agree with you there. Just trying my best to sound upbeat and positive till the time comes for Garth to pull another stunt and have us all swat the imaginary fly on our forehead. |
