Fanhouse (via Botta) says Roloson gone in exchange for D-Prospect Ty Wishart, former #16 overall pick of the Sharks. I don't know anything about him, but he's 22 and been traded twice already? http://www.islanderspointblank.com/2011/01...-for-islanders/ |

Disgraceful. What kind of message does it send to the players fighting here? Good god. I know some fans, media and bloggers will look at this and praise Garth for getting a former 1st rounder back... but this sh!t just perpetuates the endless cycle of rebuilding, tearing down, rebuilding and false promises for the future that keeps promising more. I swear I'm gonna smackdown the first nimrod that says, "look, Roloson wasn't gonna play another year here, he's 41, mediocre..." BS. unreal. we get back a big prospect that doesn't play a physical game for someone with size. A REAL NHL GM would have waited and got teams into a bidding war. The New Year starts for this GM where the previous year left off...more STUPID FRIGGEN HEAD SCRATCHING MOVES. I know this is sick, but can we add Garth Snow to OTH's bucket wish list. That's right I said it.

Is it spring training yet?

Good luck Rolli! I would have rather seen a trade to the caps simply because I'd like the Caps to win the cup but I hope Rolli goes on a tear for Tampa in the playoffs. |

I just wrote an article where he was the first guy in the who's hot/not section. Dangit.. This Ty kid is just more potential. I don't like the trade right now, but if he should make the team next year and possibly upgrade our 5 or 6 D position I would be happy. |

I just read something posted on Botta's blog by someone that made me puke. We have some fans who will try and convince themselves that every move is good. Big defenseman, 4 years since being drafted he still hasn't learned how to use his size to compete. I guess these fans believe THIS Islanders player development team is going to teach him that part of the game? Have a great night everyone. |

Bring back...PRIDE OF THE ISLAND
|
I like this trade...if nothing else it gives rick more playing time..and considering how well he has been playing lately, this move has shown that they have alot of confidence that rick is back to his old form...yeah it sucks to see roli go, but we all knew that we weren't going to be winning anything this year not with this team..good luck roli, now atleast his record will start to improve.. if this kid is slightly better than gervais..its a bonus. |

This is the best the Islanders could have done? A guy they don't think is even good enough to play above a guy like Gervais? Wow. Let the circus continue. I wonder when Bettman steps in and tries to persuade Wang to sell and move on. |

Steve? Guys? Let's calm down. Look, Roloson wasn't gonna play another year here, he's 41, mediocre. Give Snow a chance. He's better than Milbury. The kids are proving themselves. We can't count on this guy if he's not going to be part of the future. The team is showing it can win with all Gordon has taught them and Capuano is just now eccentuating that resolve. The defense withstood the loss of Streit and we got rid of that puck hog Wisnewski and we're confident Bruno can improve some as he's shown a LOT of resolve. Snow is being diligent with his plan and I'm really confident in two more years we're in the playoffs for good. Oh, and Squuiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrttttt - trickle - trickle - drip - drip - drip - splash - drip - drip - drip. Now I really sound like a douche. Great move Garth. Now go get a masters in accounting. You're $15M under the cap floor if not for Streit and Okposo not going on IR like they should. But the season ticket holders HAVE TO enjoy the new jacuzzi. They better &@*#ing be able to use the *#& ^!&@$#ed thing. I hope everyone knows they aren't supposed to renew after being kicked in the nuts for the umpteenth time. Well, there's a Suzuki Sidekick/Samuari owner who might never learn, but.... |

Oh, and somewhere, Rollie is grasping a poodle, receiving nourishment and fluids after rescue from Buffalo Bob's dry well. (so to speak) |

I am just so angry & frustrated that I don't know what to do. I want to physically injure Wang. I want to find him and cause him pain. I want him to suffer with no perceived end in sight.... so he can feel just a bit of what he is causing every fan of this team. I am tired of trying to be patient. I am so very, very tired. What will it take before someone steps in? Is there anything we can do? Can we petition the league to help us? If this were a company being dismantled, there would be some sort of recourse. There has to be something that can be done, something within our span of control. I am not rich nor do I have access to people that would be willing to put the kind of money necessary into this team, to make Wang an offer that may end this madness. Maybe we can do a get-around? Is there a way that we can so completely destroy his hopes of building the LH project that he will just have to either invest in the team or sell? Is there something that he holds dear that we can make an effort to disrupt so severly that he has no choice but to listen to what we want and stop destroying this club? I don't mean anything illegal, mind you, I just want to find some way to hurt Wang enough so he'll get the message. We could concert our efforts to defeat every attempt he makes to further any of his ventures like attending government/community meetings to voice opposition to whatever it is that Wang is trying to get approval. Don't any of the 'Core of the Four' players within the organization see what's being done? Do they even care? I am losing faith in this ever turning around. It's affecting my life, seriously. I look forward to hockey season every year. It's one of the few things I enjoy. I am so unhappy whenever I think about hockey because it seems that every effort is being made to destroy this team and I am helpless to do anything about it. I am done for now. I can't deal with this roller coaster right now. Good luck to Roloson in Tampa Bay, he deserved better than this Islanders team and now he's got it. |
![]() Reggie Dunlop: I am personally placing a hundred-dollar bounty on the head of Sean Avery. He's the head-giver and chief punk on that Rags team. Jim Carr: A bounty? Reggie Dunlop: Yeah, a hundred bucks of my own money for the first of my guys who really nails that creep. Double if he makes him bleed! WAY TO GO, HALEY!!! | |
