Garth Snow got fleeced by a rookie GM.

fleeced? do you remember that last year we could't get a bag of pucks for Rolston? The Isles which are going nowhere fast unloaded a 41 yr old goalie for (dare I say) potentialy a decent d-man. Garf owes it to Rolston for being the good soldier and sending him to a team that is playoff bound. If Rolston wants, he could return next year(why? I don't know?).

The tank is on, with the Devils with no 1st round pick, the 1st overall pick will belong to the disfunctional team we call the Islanders. :disgraced:

I think you mean Roloson not Rolston. At first I thought you were making a point about the Devils being a poorly run franchise THIS year since Rolston had been waived and recalled like a good solider.

Hey Kool Aiders, your boy Wishart has already been sent to Bridgeport, he cant crack the team with Gervais, Reese, and Hillen on defense. You can hang your Wishart jersey next to your Papineau jersey. Wang & Snow get away with this BS because there are too many Kool Aiders drinking what they are serving. No wonder why the league wont step in.

It's truly sad what a losing season can do to a fanbase.

You can't make a snap judgement on this move. We don't know what we got back. I'm almost positive no one on this board has any idea who Wishart is or what he can be, heck, Fornabaio didn't know anything about him, and he covers the AHL.

As Fornabaio said on his twitter, it may be a good thing he doesn't know him...signs of a good stay at home defenseman.

You completely made that up. He was never an offensive Dman. Again, you, yes you, individually, making things up to bash the team. That is all you do. Ever. Others have noticed.

Read the scouting reports, he has improved on offense, he will be Bridgeports 2nd leading scorer, but he does not hit and plays small. I think Yzerman knows alot more than Wang & Garfs excellent adventure does. Just more potential added to a steaming pile of potential, most of which doesnt pan out.

Here's what I want to to do:

Make a big replica of the Stanley Cup and put in big letters on it saying PARTICIPATION and leve it at the Coliseum the morning after the last game of the season when we have a lottery pick locked up.

so even if the devils finish last, and we finish 2...we still get the 1st? what happen to the devils pick?

After they finally got the NHL to approve their 15-year, $100 million contract with Kovalchuk, the league still fined them $3 million and penalized them third-round and first-round draft picks. :disgraced:

At what point does that call him an offensive dman? He's improved his offense..sounds like a good thing to me?

Stop trolling.

I am sure you would have said something negative if he came right up to the Isles. Something to the effect of, "Now our AHL-level defensive corps is complete. Another stellar move, Garth."

If he has been in the AHL this season then there is no reason why he should immediately come up to the NHL because of a trade.

Strengths:
Athletically, Wishart is the prototypical NHL defenseman most teams are dying to add to their roster: big and very mobile with the agility to contain and shut down opposing forwards. He uses his reach to his advantage well and is a master of both using the poke check and getting his stick into passing lanes. Wishart is strong and poised and plays a solid positional game. He also makes an excellent first pass out of the zone and has a heavy shot from the point. In the past couple of seasons, he's grown more comfortable and confident jumping into the play at even strength and running the power play with the man advantage.

Weaknesses:
The biggest knock on Wishart going into his draft year was his reluctance to use his size and strength to cancel out opposing players, and that knock has never completely gone away. His offensive game has improved by leaps and bounds over the past two seasons but he still has room to grow in the offensive third of the ice.

Projection:
Heading into the 2006 NHL Entry Draft most teams projected Wishart as a number three defenseman in the NHL capable of logging over 20 minutes a night. Since then, Wishart has shown marked improvement in his offensive game while still showing himself to be incredibly solid and reliable in his own end of the ice. That's why we project him as a potential top-pair shut-down defenseman who not only will match up against opposing team's best forwards, but also might be capable of putting up 30-40 points a season from the backline as well.

This guy sound awesome!!!!!!

Oh, source is the Tampa Bay website. You don't think it's a bit skewed? :o :bag: I wonder if this is what garth used as his research for his info. Afterall, he doesn't have a Director of Scouting anymore.

I think it is funny how much hate is going on this page about a guy that nobody on here knows a lick about except for what they read on different blogs.

This is all about ranting about everybodys hate of snow rather than the trade itself, end of story.

I would like to see this kid play some. I guess that wont happen until we have some injuries this year or he is called up in the future.

I was all for dealing Rollie while his value is up. So we will see if we got anything worth a damn.

How's this: yet another kid coming in with FEWER veterans to help in his development.

So the current kids are worse off, the future ones are worse off and the only ones who will be better off are the kids drafted before and after our picks.

This kid sounds like Tom Poti.

Wonder if he can eat peanutbutter?

Papineau was a victim of steve sterling. but you are bang on with this nonsense of trading our backbone for a warm body to play in the AHL.

BTW i don't own a Papineau jersey ;)
