Well, no one wants to think he's done, but he's gambling his ability to walk later in life on this. TWO scopes on one knee, a nagging hip injury that won't go away are bad....but his legs got opposing injuries from favoring the other and hurting the favored leg. Someone who has had a LT injury knows the pain/strain. I seriously think he's going to come to the realization that his days are numbered if someone not employed by the wonger tells him what he's risking. |

So, potentially, bridgeport goes from a logjam of 3 goaltenders to calling up an ECHL goalie, all in 3 days. |

Poulin deserves this but while some of us may question whether he's ready or not... this kind of scenario leaves us with no other choice given the financial situation. |

Unlikely. Leighton has another year on his contract and just played his first game this season after coming back from back surgery. I hope Poulin doesn't have to play at all while he's up. Just gets to collect a paycheck and watch a game or two. |

If DP isn't ready by the weekend Poulin will get a start, they need to see how he plays in the NHL even if its only a game or two. Its a reward for him and gives him a taste of what he needs to work on when back in the AHL. If DP is going to be out for any real length of time they should get someone off the scrap heap and send Poulin back down no matter how he plays in those 1 or 2 games though. |

Just a note on Roloson. If you missed the phone conversation that was played between periods he said a number of interesting things. To parphrase: This is a good organization with top management, coaches and players. Players like playing here. He was sorry to leave this organization. That room is full of good guys. And he ended it with "I wish them nothing but success and will cherish my memories from the Island". Class guy. I hope he does well. |

Ideally we would have forgotten he existed for another year or two. BILLY SMITH would consult with him , have long talks and guide him through what it takes. But he's young and cheap, a combinations Snow just loves. ![]() ![]() Garth offered advice to young netminders: "Big pads." |

Exactly. He has to make a personal decision on whether he wants to have a normal physical life later on. Because it's obvious on every stretch or any hint of a bump around the net, he's going to be in trouble. I could care less about the haters on this board. They have their own personal issues. Hopefully, he's wise enough and maybe his dad will talk to him about what is smart. I cringe everytime he's run over in the crease. Let's face, we got a bunch of inept defensemen, who have NO physical presence out there. He's more likely to get hurt with this group anyway.

No one is walking away from that contract. Something bad will need to happen to give DP no choice and have the decision made for him. The size of the guaranteed $$, and the competitive nature of professional athletes would, I assume dictate his future. |

Not that anyone cares but MAB just signed with Lightning too. MAB, ROLO, Bergie and Thompson. All 4 will be in the playoffs. |

Why does anyone think he'd have to walk away from the contract if he retired due to injury? If a dr. says he's done, he gets to keep the money. It is a guaranteed contract. So if DP does retire due to injury, what do we care if he gets it? Its Wangs money and he hasn't exactly spent it lately or wisely. |
