Islanders Natural Hat-trick; Presented by Nathan's; Tough time to be an NYI sponsor....

So I just received the "Natural Hat-trick" promotion form NYI / Nathans

A couple of things struck me as odd (see voice in my head parenthetical comments)

The Islanders Natural Hat-trick it's a win, win, win situation!
(Careful - those three wins could be it for the rest of the year)

...Buy a ticket to any of the Islanders games: Saturday, Feb. 5th vs. Ottawa, Tuesday, Feb. 8th vs. Toronto or Friday, Feb. 11th vs. Pittsburgh and choose from the following options:
"All You Can Eat Seats"
Drop the gloves and open wide...it's all you can eat at the Coliseum. Get one (1) Islanders Ticket in the best available location and unlimited food & beverages from Nathan's! (Does not include alcoholic beverages)

(All You Can Eat Seats - huh? I prefer to eat food)
(Bad timing on "drop the gloves" for at least one NYI team member)
(Wouldn't the best location be a new stadium?)
(Given that the Penguins rematch is one of the games featured, maybe some kind of Rock Em Sock Em Goalie Boxing could be promoted?)

"Get Your Gear Seats"
Not prepared to stuff your face? Get one (1) Islanders Ticket in the best available location and take a 49% discount off all Isles merchandise at the Coliseum!

(How much preparation do you need to "stuff your face"? -- why not say something like: "Not a disgusting pig who likes lukewarm, greasy Nathans?")

"Double Down Seats"
Get two (2) Islanders tickets in the best available location for one great price!
(We are already far, far past "double down" -- maybe they should try "get down, get funky" and have a "Wear your best leisure suit for '70s night")

Give her 2 minutes for roughing?
2 minutes?

That's a gross misconduct and grounds for a divorce. Gotta give em at least 3.

25yearfan, didn't you say they were going to have to start all you can eat promos just in yesterday's game thread? You have to stop giving them your promo ideas for nothing.

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

I think they mentioned "all you can eat Nathans" during the game -- I just expanded it to any restaurant outside the Coliseum, since I wouldn't eat any Nathans.

I would be happy to have NYI take any of my ideas in seriousness (I have had a few that don't involve torturing their well-meaning Marketing folks), doubt they will be consulting me though.

Throw in a free colon vacuuming and that Nathans deal might be more attractive :)

Hey, Nathan's is one of my favorite foods. Can't resist a detour off the Belt anytime we can.

Didn't mean to diss one of your favorites....

Then again, that detour off the Belt => another notch looser on the belt....
(in general, not commenting on "your" belt, specifically, especially since my belt could use to be a few notches tighter!)

I used to work near there frequently - haven't seen Nathan's in a while, looks like they spiffed it up a bit.

It's ok for a place that's been around 100 years. Still lots of foreigners and homeless looking for handouts.

Hmmm, maybe it's no coincidence that NJ has a $100 million hot dog that produces indigestion for Devils fans....

CUPZ, I used to live a mile from Rutt's. Gotta have the oil fried doggies with their "famous" yellow relish. And ten beers. Great doggies, the best of them all but i'm prejudiced.

I used to sit in my car in the lot and watch the rats (the size of cats) run along the guardrail above Rt. 21.

How the hell do you know about the Hut? i thought that was a well kept Jersey secret.

The Rifle family will be going to the Islander Penguin game on Friday night. I have to admit, the two for one pricing made it a good deal. Some points, tho- it appears that this game, on a Friday night against the Penguins, is pretty popular (I know, Captain Obvious) so the only seats were in the 300's. We're in 301 row K which is fine. Total price for 4 tickets was very reasonable at $135 for all four.

We'll possibly buy another two if some schedules change and will either do Loudville or Stub Hub to keep the price down.

I also looked at the Toronto game and you could still get lower bowl seats (sec 121) for the same price. That's the difference between who they're playing and on what night, I guess. Good deal if you wanna see a game and not tap your 401k to do so.

Anyway, we'll be heading out to the Island early, catch dinner close by and hopefully get a good gane to watch.

Anybody have any suggestions for a good family place to eat before the game?

Look forward to seeing everyone, I assume gate 1 is still the between period meeting place.

I bought the double down for tonight last week, I'll update to see what seats I get, they're at will call.
