Goals you'd like to see some Islanders achieve.

With 33 games left to the season, I'd like to see some players get to some numbers that could make us feel a little better about our team.

I'd like to see Tavares get to 70 points although, 60 will be nice.

I'd like to see Grabner get 25 goals and moved to the first line and to the PP.

Moulson to 30 goals and 50 points.

Comeau to 50+ points.

Parenteau moved to the 2rd line and removed from the PP.

Schremp moved to the 3rd line and removed from the PP.

Bailey putting points up faster than Andrew Macdonald.

Martin go back to hitting like he did when he first came up.

Trent Hunter get traded.

Rick DiPietro retire.

I know the last two won't happen, but some of the others could. What would you like to see....besides Wang sell and Snow removal.

I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

Consistent play from anyone not named Andrew MacDonald

Stability in net ( )

Martinek get the hell out of here

Kyle Okposo to get back to his old self

Comeau to start playing physical again. We all know that when he hits, he scores

When the offseason comes, hiring a coach that actually has NHL HEAD coaching experience

A first line veteran winger (NHL first line, that is).

Chuck Wang lose his upcoming court case.

Chuck Wang being forced to sell to pay his damages sum.

A new owner have a meeting with MBA Backup and offer him a job in scouting.

Capuano step down to pursue an AHL gig.

Parenteau spend the summer learning to stickhandle and pass.

Bailey take the entire summer to train/mature.

DP hit his milestone 50th injury in 50 games. Bossy gives him a gold cane. He then retires and his walker goes in the rafters to celebrate.

Nino has a great camp and stays down.

We sign five UFA's and keep them all past January.

Under 200 man games lost.

I'd love to root and hope for those goals Nick, especially Grabner getting to 25.

But this all ties into what Billy Jaffe said on Hockey Night Live this past weekend when asked what felt about the Islanders and how things have gone for them.

After he sighed in almost frustration, he said at some point you HAVE to do more than just looking for positives during a rebuild if you're truly looking to take that next step instead of just treading water.

Nick, I've done this every year for the last few and the positives I look for are just game by game. Not at seasons end.
I fully expect this team to have a little win streak at some point in last month while playing for nothing while they face teams with pressure on them. Has happened each of the last 2 years.
We then get fans all giddy thinking...
"hey man, Comeau has like 11 points in his last 13 games, next year he can be a 75 point guy..."
"sick goal by Okposo, just give him the C already..."

etc etc

You know the rest...no leadership, just hardship for diehards watching and waiting for REAL CHANGE, not spare change being spent on under performing talent surrounded by incompetence.

Yeah, maybe just Grabner and 25 goals for me is the one that really stands out...he and Andy MacDonald have been great little gems in an otherwise horrendous season.

You just spelled out the real problem with dumpster diving hockey:

Everyone is the next Moulson. Every f***-up is going to prove them all wrong.

We're not that bad.

Well, looking at this roster, we're a good AHL team. A very good AHL team, minus the leadership and competency an NHL team with an NHL coach and NHL quality from top to bottom has.

So while Atlanta got a Norris winner, we got Wiznewski (and screwed that up). While San Jose grabs Nittymaki to strengthen a position already stronger than ours, we're throwing **** at a fan expecting it to fly. While we're pining for Parenteau to be the next Moulson, the Flames grab playmaker and experienced vet Tanguay who has quietly only trailed Iginla in Calgary as top foreward.

We're allergic to quality. We only go after reclamations and fodder.

I want to see Okposo get 10 goals for the season. 33 games left, he just came back but currently has zero. I'd like to see him start to show that he's a goal scorer, I think if he finishes the season on a 20+ goal pace (over 82 games) that would be good. I am not convinced that KO will ever be a big goal scorer, and I'd like to see him take a step forward.

One small goal I'd like to see.
Travis Hamonic's first NHL goal. Kid's worked his rear off being thrust into
a role he wasn't really ready for and has played well in certain spots.
He's shown heart by dropping the gloves and standing up for teammates and his goalie.

Okay.
35 for JT, 30 for Moulson. 25 for Grabner.
Other goals:
replacing Schremp, Parenteau, Gillies, Gervais.
Naming a head scout.
A position for Trottier.
President of Hockey Operations named.
Oh, and a facelift for the barn.
Where in the World is Sebastian Collberg?

1. I would like to see Rick Deportee get a contract extension
so he can work the kinks out of his body

2. I would like to see Zenon Konopka average 7 fights per game

3. I would like to see J. Bailey get

A. a new set of chains for his next years Islander start of the season commercial

B. one more goal so he can increase his already Gretsky like statistics
Games 178
Goals 29

One more goal and he reaches 30 in his career
He's a keeper

C. To be able to grow face hair

I WANNA WAKE UP AND HEAR NYI ON A REAL RADIO STATION....Period.

I want NYI in Queens.

I want Kate and Cholly to make wild passionate sado masochistic love and then both have heart attacks. Kidding - kinda.

I want all bloggers to go away.

I wanna easter egg, I wanna easter egg.

Come on Cuppy get with the program and update your sig - it was 4K for Carolina and something like 10k for Buffalo. You're letting us down.

:P
John Tavares was 2 years old the last time NYI won a playoff series
