Does anybody see a pattern developing here?

Any veteran player that this team acquires that has spent considerable time in other organizations either doesn't stay here long or falls out of favor with the organization quickly.

Guerin, Smyth, Comrie, Witt, Wisniewski, Roloson, Biron

This organization is a disgrace. I'm not overrating Wiz, but the fact that he was traded long before the deadline shows me they wanted to get him the hell out of here. And why? I have no desire to make any sense of this. One of two things happened:

1. He openly criticized management in front of the team.

2. They wanted him to sign an extension and he told them to go to hell.

Either way, this is pitiful.

dude Wizniewki was horrible as far as the other players you mentioned come on......ok outside of Smyth (who's done some moving around since being dealt by the Oilers) Witt, Guerin are done, Biron is a real good back up goalie -no room for him on the Islanders

you want to complain my man Bergenheim is having a real nice season w/Tampa what Snow should have done is dump Weight and Sims and should of kept Sean!! NOW that's what you call a mistake

I love the move, would rather keep Jurcina

most likely the next move he Isles make adds a blueliner

Nice to see the kool aid is flowing.

In case you didn't notice, Wiz leads the team in assists and is tied for the lead in points. On a team that can't put the puck in the net, you can't applaud a move that deals your premier point getter before New Year's Day. You just can't.

So for all of you lauding Garff for this deal, what do you say to the season ticket holders who've paid good money?

This organization is a complete joke from the owner on down.

RST. whatever you are smoking, please share with the rest of us lol

LOL

I think it's a good move even though it "doesn't" help the Islanders this year. someone else mentioned this sets up another deal I agree with them

overall the two best blueliners on the team are Hamonic and Jurcina, imo the others are all trade bait sorry MacDonald and Hillen

so moving Wisniewki to me is not a big loss and a blueline that needs a nice overhaul

Are you kidding me?

MacDonald has been the most consistent defenseman for us.
Hamonic had played well until recently when he's looked more like an overmatched rookie.
He was awful last night.

Are you watching the same games?

Who cares? He was out of here after this season. We weren't winning with him and won't win without him. He was playing better as of late perhaps we could have gotten more at the deadline. People are mentioning on twitter we might pick up Rolston tomorrow on re-entry waivers. Ugh.

Perhaps we could have gotten more at the trade deadline.

Perhaps he would have been overworked for the next 30 games, then worn down, then injured, driving his trade value to nothing. Figure he wasn't re-signing, so grab the picks & run.

This is neutral-positive except for the fact that he's tied for lead in points / one of the more senior / vocal guys in the room. Doesn't matter too much anyway, this season is shot.

This is unbelievable that you move him this early in the season. I know we're out of it, but this says we've packed it in for the season and we're having a yard sale and a team shouldn't be telling the fans on Dec 28th the season is over. First, he's our leading scorer and you don't move that this early, second he's on a 6 game point scoring streak and you can't get a vet in return, in this era when you need to lose salary to add someone is unfathomable.

I know he wasn't going to sign next season, but at least we were actually getting to the point we could watch again. Now we have to watch Bruno? Did they have to make room for Martinek (you know for the 2 weeks he'll be back in the lineup).

Snowman said it best.

The management/ownership continues to find ways to piss off fans. Can't wait to see what their next brainstorm will be to sell tickets.
I sold it all, retired and moved to Fabulous Las Vegas!

He did have a colorful interview inbetween the 2nd and 3rd last nite. Don't know if that had anything to do with it. I wish we could have waited for the trade deadline when teams are a little more desperate, but who knows what the real story was. Maybe he was a cancer in the lockerroom. We're not there. He didn't stand out so I'm not going to cry about this. He was an average d-man on a weak blueline.

The "revolving door" comment made me lol, and this did of course too

Looking forward to your and Bonzy's glowing assessment of Garff's deal sending Moulson to Vancouver for a third.

 Great post. Some could give a crap about this season here. It's a shame. Another lost year, giving up before the New Year has even begun. This organization is an embarrassment. You know what? I miss Mike Milbury. At least this guy would push the spoiled brat around and try to put together a decent hockey team. The team will have so many draft picks by 2015 when they leave. I hope Wang leaves with them because the stink he gives off is worse than the East River.

And we bashed a nurse who was asked why she didn't go to games anymore and let her true feelings out but the sensitive players couldn't understand why someone who spends money for entertainment stopped going because they weren't entertained.

Can't wait to read some bloggers and Katie Strang's BS tomorrow.
This should be interesting.

Bring back...PRIDE OF THE ISLAND
have to admit..my first reaction was, "here we go again"...but after reading throught the comments here, and thinking about this....He sucked...would anyone really want him back here next year? knowing the salary demands he would probably ask for...that is if he wanted to come back...no one knows..could it be that the islanders are looking to possibly next year bringing in dehaan?seriously doubt that the islanders are going to bring in rolston...if they need to get to the cap floor, I hear they just put a bonus claus in ricks contract..

really this isn't anything to get excited about..I'm at peace with all this..it doesn't faze me anymore. Heck, I'm just waiting for the new year...2015!! can't come soon enough..

Are you kidding? You think I'm drinking the kool-aid? I loathe Wang and Snow. Have you read any of my posts? I am apathetic to this organization at this point. It's a friggen joke. Nothing they do surprises me anymore. Everyone was bashing on Wiz not to long ago. Besides were we winning with him? It's gotten to the point where I hope they get sold and if necessary move if it means having an owner put money into the team and having them put a successful product on the ice. I think those believing that we still had a chance this season to make the playoffs are the ones drinking the kool-aid. Even if we traded Wiz for a decent player the Isles would still do something to mess it up in the long run.

While I get your point I'd hardly say rollie has fallen out of favor since he is on the team...or is he the next deal? I figured he'd go first but I don't think rolie or smyth fell out of favor. However I buy your point on the others. So now we have jurcina & eaton to show hamonic & macD how to be NHL dmen??? Great vet leadership there plus no qb for the pp. Can't wait to see franz & schremp on the point. I do think the value for wiz was ok considering he is in his walk yr & hasn't been brilliant but a vet player is more needed than 2&5 rd picks
I miss these :cup: :cup: :cup: :cup: and want more of them
