The Islanders are 15 points out of the playoffs with 27 games left. The trade deadline is 3 weeks away. Tomorrow's game is pivotal. Were they for real or was this a one time deal? If they play like this again, Garth, it is up to you. Go make a couple trades for the betterment of the TEAM. Not our draft choices. Show the fans and the rest of the NHL you are commited to winning. Hey, the lease is up in 2015, the same year that Quebec's arena will be complete. Say buh-bye to the Isles. The FUTURE is NOW, whether you want it to or not. If we dont win a CUp in the next four years, I doubt we will have a team. |

Bring back...PRIDE OF THE ISLAND
|
forget the playoffs..they are not a playoff team..one game..honestly, I just don't believe they will carry any of this over..especially once the suspensions hit. I see the same crap happening again..bad blood with one team with what they saw..the laughing....didn't we see this before..well, not exactly like this..but the simon incident..he gets hit from behind from that dirtbag..league comes down hard..this divides the fans here..and the team continues with the same play..perhaps bad comparsion..guess I should just stick with..I believe this is a one game stint..thats it..they don't have it in them to keep the toughness going..have to prove it to me..they need to prove it..come on, with martin and gillies gone for so many games.possibly haley too..who will provide the toughness and protect tavares and others..gervais and jurcina or hillen..I saw what those guys are capable of after our tough guys left..nothing...garth needs to call up a couple of other tough guys..yeah the players did their job, for one night..now its garths turn to defend his players..and not play his stupid games.. |

For anyone going to next visit at the Coliseum. Print this out and hold it up against the glass during Pens warmups.

There is just so much stuff out there on the net about this game....it kills me to not have seen it live. I've watched the "highlights" over and over and beyond the Martin and Gillies "incidents" I don't know what Mario and some of the analysts are so uptight about. What Martin did was dumb but people are comparing it to the Bertuzzi incident....gimme a friggen break!!!! Talbot wasn't hurt and Martin never got a good shot on him. Gillies hit didn't deserve 10 games but I'm gonna assume the roughing and chirping afterwards were a factor. But still...our guys have been getting nailed like that all year. Hamonic took an elbow to the face yesterday for god's sake. Anyone harping on the Haley Johnson thing is retarded....Johnson initiated that (just like he did w/ DP)...it's as clear as day. The rest of the fights and rough stuff were all spontaneous and part of the moment...and mutual. I saw plenty of rough stuff initiated by the Pens. How about Macdonald taking 4 bare knuckle punches to the face (before he could get his gloves off btw) after taking 3 hard cross checks. Grabner and kyle getting slammed into Johnson. JT being slashed...etc., etc., etc., Mario, Cindy and their fans can take their league nurtured sense of entitlement and stick it up their collective asses. |

PLAYOFFS????? PLAYOFFS!!!??? Has Coach Morra come back? Did you mention playoffs when we are playing a rotation of 3 AHL goalies the rest of the season? LOL Al Montoya looked like the PITCH BACK we used to use in my backyard in the 70's playing wiffleball. I haven't seen rebounds like that since Nixon won in 68. I thought the puck was made by Spaulding. We aren't making the playoffs. In fact, with Poulin out, Rollie in Tampa and DP getting ready for Steve Austin surgery (4.5 million dollar man- we can rebuild him  ) our goaltending will make sure we won't fall out of a lottery spot. If you are beating Buffalo 7-6, don't expect a run. |

Playoff chances ended after game 25. And certainly when Rolo and Wiz were traded. This streak is nice but much like last season means nothing when the pressure is off and the games don't mean much. Still, I enjoy beating MTL, PITT and Buff. Maybe 1 season it will mean more. |
